Atlanta-de Mets have been picked up, but manager Carlos Mendoza sees no potentially long-term storm brew.

Jeff McNeil, Brandon Nimmo and Luis Torrens were all absent in the starting line-up for a second consecutive day, leaving the Mets Dun in the line-up for their 12-7, series-open victory on the Braves on Friday evening.

McNeil underwent an MRI exam on his right shoulder that, according to Mendoza, did not show any structural damage.

McNeil stood on the couch as a pinch-hitting option that he served on Thursday before he played half a collection in the left field.

McNeil’s discomfort has emerged from throwing.

The shoulder started to bother him about a week ago – so Mendoza would use it as a DH in successive competitions last weekend.

“He just has to play through it,” Mendoza said, and noted that McNeil started taking medication for his shoulder. “He’s just a bit in a strange place here. We give him some extra time for the medicine to work.”

Nimmo, who left the competition on Wednesday with neck stiffness, showed improvement and expected to participate in baseball activities. But he didn’t play in Friday’s victory.

Torrens had to deal with left -handiness after he was cut behind the plate on Wednesday – reigned the interference of a catcher.

“Every team has something to do,” said Mendoza. “We are not the only ones and we have to find a way.”


The Mets started with an ERA of 5.21 in August, the biggest contributing factor to the 5-13 record of the team for the month.

Offensive, the Mets had produced on a .263/.334/.472 clip, giving them a .805 Ops that were third in the National League for the month.


De Braves celebrated the 30th birthday of the first World Series title of the franchise in Atlanta with a parade with many of the players of that team through the battery outside Truist Park before the game and ceremony on the field.

The 1995 Braves, led by Hall of Famers -Chipper Jones, Fred McGriff, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz, defeated Cleveland in the World Series.

Hall of Fame manager Bobby Cox, who has been in health in recent years, also appeared rare.
