We often talk about Jeremy Monga, believing he is a special player. Jeremy is only 16. He looks fantastic and, with enough playing time, can make a solid contribution to special victories for this club.
Overlooking him is a huge mistake and he is much more than just a random sub. To see Silko Thomas take the field before this gem is strange management and tragic decision-making.
Not because Silko Thomas is a bad player, but he is far from Jeremy Monga’s capabilities. We don’t rate the former Chelsea academy player at the same level as Monga. No one from Real Madrid, Barcelona or Tottenham follows that player and his progress. They all look at Monga.
Jade and Jobe Bellingham are clear examples of how to build on talent from a young age. Wayne Rooney and Kobie Mainoo are other examples. Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi played regularly at first-team level as young teenagers. Lamine Yamal also a player to compare with.
Certain Leicester fans fail to see Jeremy Monga’s talent and full potential. Gary Lineker and Emile Heskey are former players at Leicester, both introduced as regulars in the team and young players. Peter Shilton and Steve Whitworth are other examples from a different era. Jeremy Monga is physically on par with the players he plays against. He has already shown us that he can handle football at this level.

The key for Marti Cifuentes is to balance his team. He must create opportunities for the young players. Louis Page and Lorenz Hutchinson are other players to keep a close eye on in this context and setting.
Marti Cifuentes has a good track record when it comes to getting the best out of young players. Why he has struggled so far at Leicester is a major concern. The trick is to build great momentum. However, without the right setup, he may find the introduction difficult. Sometimes experienced players perform well below the expected level. He needs the right environment to introduce young players in a positive setting.
Man City is the role model at the moment. They give young players a chance, and all these players are between 17 and 19 years old. Why Jeremy Monga has to wait to become a regular at Leicester is a sad picture to look at.
