Coming from Nagpur, Vidarbha’s left -handed Yash Rathod Has been the buzz in the Indian domestic circuit for some time. Rathod made his first -class debut at the beginning of 2023 and has only gone into force since then. He has a total of 20 Red-Ball and 24 mentions a meeting to date and has an average of 50.66 and 47.72 on average.
There are still a few days left before the Duleep trophy finals between South Zone and Central Zone ends. There is a good chance that the current game in Bengaluru may have already been decided by Rathod’s Elegante 194-Run Klop. Although he was unlucky to miss a well -deserved double ton, Rathod’s count meant a substantial first innings lead for Central Zone.
There were some classic strokes that were played by the Southpaw on the BCCI Center of Excellence Ground. He was also involved in 167 and 176-run stands for the fourth and six wickets with skipper Rajat Patidar and all-rounder Saransh Jain. The lush innings of Rathod consisted of 17 four and two sixes. It took a peach of a delivery of Gurjapneet Singh to get rid of him.
Rathod had a breakthrough season with the bat for Vidarbha In their title-winning campaign in the 2024-25 episode of the Ranji trophy. He appeared as the leading Run-Getter of the Premier Red-Ball competition with a colossal 960 runs in 18 innings, with three fifties and five tons to his name. His dynamic capacity to hit every position also made him the team’s favorite crisis man in what a dream season was for Vidarbha.
Central zone Played the quarter and the semi-final of the current Duleep trophy before he came to the final. Rathod registered scores of 87* and 78 in the middle of Central against North East Zone. He had an off-out in the semi-final and got out for 2 of 8 in the only innings in which Central struck. It is not yet given the impact he will have on this collision and for his state and possibly India in the coming period.
