The knights had a tough week at home against Memphis (64-54), because they only gathered one victory.
Tim Elko, 26, really wants another chance in the Majors, and that turned out this week. Elko simply could not be stopped because he finished 9-from-23 with five homers and 10 RBIs, who led the system in both categories this week. Elko also took a double and two walks to end with a heavenly HOOG 1,549 Ops. Elko’s most recent MLB performance was on July 11, but at this pace he could soon be back, especially in view of the recent attacking struggles at the highest level.
Outfielder Corey Julks, 29, had a smaller sample size this week, but based on per game, Julks was actually slightly better than Elko. Julks struck 5-out-11 with three gays and three walks, while he counts. Julks was appointed on Tuesday for an assignment, but he managed to erase and was downright back to Charlotte. It is clear that Julks took the DFA personally, because Redbirds -throwers had no answers for him.

The barons won four of the six against Pensacola (58-55), which is usually for the barons. Unbelievable, the 4-2 week of the barons fell slightly somewhat their second half-winning percentage.
It is safe to say that Outfielder Braden Montgomery, 22, was up to the task this week. Montgomery hit 11-out-22 with eight Doubles, five walks, five RBIs, and he stole a base in his only attempt. Pensacola -wergers struggled enormously against the star perspective, which placed a 1,485 OPS this week. I do not remember hatred at any level that cuts eight double in a wingspan of six games, but that is what Montgomery did. Montgomery earned a promotion to Birmingham on July 29, and he felt his presence, while he .324/.410 /.500 cuts in Double-A. Montgomery started the season with Kannapolis, but suddenly he easily makes work of pitchers two levels higher. Bravo to Montgomery on a fantastic series in Pensacola.

The dashboard stumbled a bit this week and dropped four of the six at home against the tourists (48-64).
Drake Logan, 24, who received most of his playing time in the right field and midfield, was dominant against Asheville. Logan hit 9-out-23 with a Homer, a triple, five RBIs and two walks. Logan also stole four bases in five attempts, so he was dangerous after he came to base, which he did quite often this week. This is the second weekly Logan prize in the past three weeks.
Honorable mention goes to Ryan Burrowes, 21, who was promoted from Kannapolis to Winston-Salem on July 22. Burrowes already shows that he belongs at the higher level, and although he only played four games this week, he has his time. Burrowes hit 4-out-9 with two walks, a double and three stolen bases in four attempts.

The cannon ballers had a week they would like to forget and all six games dropped against the Augusta Greenjackets (61-49).
START -Werger Grant Umberger, 23, performed admirably during the Saturday game against Augusta. Umberger threw 5 1/3 shutout -innings, and he picked up eight strikeouts while he only carried out one walk. Umberger has thrown 92 innings this season, all with the cannonball players. Umberger has an excellent era (2.64) and FIP (also 2.64), because it has been very reliable for Kannapolis. Unbelievable, Umberger has only allowed one home run this season, because he has done a great job to limit sharp contact. Well done to Umberger for his second weekly prize, because this week he was one of the few clear places for Kannapolis.

The DSL White Sox had a fantastic week and won all six of their games to improve to 28-25 of the season. They only have two more games this season, so they have received a winning record.
Outfielder Osniel Castillo, 19, was on fire this week and finished 5-out-12 with a homer, a triple, a double, three free walking and four driven. Castillo also stole two bases without being caught, because he shot on all cylinders. CSATILLO really bent its speed this week, and most of his playing time has arrived in midfield, a valuable position.
Orlando Suarez, 18, also had a great week, threw seven shutout -innings and collected 10 strikeouts without giving walks. Suarez, a right -handed pitcher, took care of business on Monday and then on Saturday again, allowing only one hit in each of those starts.
