While there is nothing official yet from their respective clubs, Monday brought updates from the media on the injuries sustained Ben White (£5.4 million) and Then Burns (£5.2m) in Gameweek 16.
AM WHITE
White came off with a hamstring injury in the win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Reports suggest the defender could be out for four to six weeks pending the results of further tests this week.
If this is correct, White would miss between 4 and 7 game weeks.
That would be a big boost Jurriën Hout (£6.5m), who would not only have to beat one of his positional rivals but would also be free to resume duties at right-back – from where he has already managed five attacking results – following his recent spell as a centre-back.
And because Timber was needed as a right back (ergo one less central defender to consider), Piero Hincapie (£5.5m) can benefit from this in the very short term – as long as Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.2 million) is not forthcoming.
AND BURNED
Burn It is believed he suffered a punctured lung and broken ribs in the Tyne-Wear derby.
Again, we’re taking unofficial timelines here, but the centre-back could reportedly be out for up to six weeks.
If true, that would take him out of the next 6-7 gameweeks.
Fabian Schar (£5.3m) looks to benefit from Burn’s absence in the short term Sven Botman (£4.9 million) was also sidelined.
