Air Force Academy Graduation Chance to reconsider cuts
Re: “Bauernfeind wants warriors from the Air Force Academy, so he cuts ‘Education’, 25 May guest commentary
The academic heart of the US Air Force Academy is threatened.
On Thursday we honor the USAFA graduation course of 2025. The American secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink will give the keynote address, and the situation will justify his intervention to reverse the damage caused.
The constant, random cuts of USAFAs experience (and cost -effective) Ph.D. The faculty in danger is in danger to the academic excellence of the academy – and its mission to forge leaders who are critical -. These cuts are not strategic; They are politically motivated and openly based on “anti-wok” concepts that endanger the core of what uses a world-class educational institution, without increasing deadliness.
The Academy is not just a military training camp with classrooms. It is rather a prominent university where future air and space tract officers learn to think critically, to act ethically and to lead decisively to complex problems in a rapidly changing, ever-increasing provider. Decimating academic departments by cutting 30% of their experienced faculty, demoralizing both teachers and cadets, even threatens basic accreditations (not to mention academic excellence) and sends the wrong message about the type of leaders that we appreciate.
There must be a reasoning, openly discussed by the many stakeholders of USAFA, who protects the academic and research core of the academy, not as a side issue, but as a central pillar of officer development.
If we lose the academic power of USAFA, America loses an important part of its war fights and peace enforcement.

$ 23 trillion new debt, not $ 3 trillion
Re: “Economy: Trump ignores warning signals”, 25 May News story
For some reason everyone is worried about the $ 3 trillion that will be added to the national debt in ten years by the house account. The left is not the fact that the current annual budget deficit of $ 2 trillion is expected to continue during that decade, adding more than $ 20 trillion to the national debt. The $ 3 trillion is just a cherry on the cake. (A trillion here and a trillion there and soon we are talking about real money.)
Federal investors will soon conclude that the US is too stupid to be familiar with and that the interest rates are rising. (Bond markets are stable until they are not.)
Get up, everyone. I hope you are protected.

Governor should pronounce a veto about the Kratom Bill
Re: “Will policy Veto Kratom Bill?” May 23 News story
Jared Polis government should veto Senate Bill 72. It brings patients like me in danger and is unable to do what regulations should: make things clearer and safer. I live with chronic pain. After trying out countless treatments, I found relief with a crate meridian called 7-OH. It is vegetable, affordable and has worked without the need for dangerous opioids.
SB 72 threatens that access. The bill hurried at the end of the session, puts a hard cap on the active connection 7-OH, but does not provide a clear direction about what happens with products that are about the limit. Without clarity, patients and companies have been left behind and the risks of incorrect interpretation or over -range grow.
Safe, regulated access stores. When rules are vague and confusing, people can turn to a non -regulated black market or opioids. The legislators could have adopted a well-considered, evidence-based regulation. Instead, they hurried an account that creates confusion and instability. I hope Gov. Polis will be a veto on SB 72 and will bring patients and experts to the table in 2026 because we earn better.
