Golf is a decision sport. Regardless of where you are on the course, you make an abundance of decisions to make your lowest possible score. I think this game has more final decisions than most sports and as such experience is a key factor to be successful. Another critical factor to play well is to check our ego. Sometimes our ego attracts us a rabbit hole to a wonderland of crazy. The key to most amateurs is to understand what they can and cannot do with their clubs to select the right recording for a certain situation. This is a lesson that I still learn from time to time, but I get better in checking my ego at the door. Are you?
Doctor Bob Rotella is a fantastic source for amateur golfers. He offers plan solutions for potential challenges on conditions that we can understand. His view of which shot they should then hit is very simple. Understand your game and press photos that you know can do more often than not. If we do this, the positive results appear on the score card. It is a very simple approach to Golf.
There are times when a lower percentage of shot is needed, but hopefully you were able to practice this before you needed it. If not, your next shot is really a shot of hope and prayer type. You will not know for sure what the results will be and this situation usually results in a double bogey or worse. Sometimes it is best to take our medicine and play for a bogey.
