Cricket Australia is racing by the time to save his upcoming Big Bash League 2025-26 (BBL 2025-26) season after the sudden decision of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to block his players to play in the overseas T20 competitions.
PCB’s Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed announced the prohibition on September 29 after the recent Asia Cup 2025. This shocking movement has stirred the Big Bash League a few weeks before the start of the tournament in December.

However, Cricket Australia -Baas Todd Greenberg is personally in conversation with the PCB, and he is determined to find a solution to bring the players back for the tournament.

BBL gets a big boost when Ravichandran Ashwin joins the Sydney Thunder
In the meantime, the Big Bash League received a much -needed boost with the signing of the Indian all -rounder Ravichandran Ashwin. Sydney Thunder rpmed in Ashwin for the coming season.
Greenberg spoke about the signing of Ashwin: “We have found facilities where we can work, and all clubs had equal opportunities to get in touch with him. It is a big moment for the BBL to welcome Ravi here; I spoke to him a number of occasions personally.”
