As the younger sister of San Antonio Sporen Rookie Carter Bryant, Cydnee Bryant stayed away from playing basketball as a way to be her own person and find herself through volleyball. It is only recently that she started to decorate hardwood with the hoops lowered. The year will mark number three in the coming winter, to be precise. And in that short time she has been on a straight tear, according to ESPN, to No. 37 in the 2026 class, and to the fourth best in the state.
“Basketball and volleyball bring me two different senses of peace, two different senses of excitement, explosiveness in the game. So I think that change of pace was comfortable and familiar,” says Cydnnee.
Whether the nets have been raised or not, the 6-4 forward spikes shot anyway. The paint is not patrol, it is checked with a feeling in the basket that is unparalleled. She does her work early, creating a prime position for board after plate, disputes after match, and one after and one. From the basketball court to the volleyball court, the only care of Cydnee is looking for ways to contribute to a victory. As long as she knows she has locked that end, she can walk away from the game satisfied.
“I am not necessarily flashing at the offensive end. I come low. I am aggressive. I think I have had more offensive mistakes than defending mistakes in my career, but it’s good,” she says. “Defensively, I hate to lose more than I love winning, and the Ministry of Defense wins championships, so I’m definitely going to give it all to the defensive end.”
The parents of the resident of the Corona played both hoops and volleyball, so the competitive drive of Cydnnee was introduced earlier than the most. It is clear in the physicality with which she plays, in the passion that overflows after changing a loose ball into a bucket. “West coast players are absolutely not soft,” says Cydnee. “Because if I was soft, I wouldn’t be completed no. 1 in rebounds and blocks in Eybl.”
“Let us know, Big Dawg,” Christian and Brandon both confirm.
