West Ham United is preparing a formal offer to sign Palmeiras Center-Forward Vorror Roque in the winter transfer window, according to Signings.
The 20-year-old came to the spotlights while in the books of Athletico Paranaense, where he gave 22 goals in 66 performances for Paranaense. Several clubs in Europe were hot on his path before Catalan giants Barcelona won the race to sign him.
However, it did not go as planned, because the attacker struggled for Gametime before he was sent on loan to Real Betis. He eventually made for a permanent step back to his home country to join Palmeiras in February this year and was part of the Verdão side that reached the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Roque has rediscovered his shape, delivered 13 goals and offered four assists for the side of Abel Ferreira this season, and a possible European return on the maps with West Ham is now happy to sign him.
This is according to the Spanish outlet SignatureS, who claims that the hammers have set their sights on the Brazilian center-forward while they look to strengthen their attack.
The report adds that the East London outfit is preparing a formal range of £ 34 million to sign the One-Cap Brazil international in the January transfer window.
Roque to West Ham
West Ham wants to add a young, productive goal scorer to their ranks and believe that the shape of the Brazilian attacker with Palmeiras makes an ideal fit to strengthen their attack this season, according to the report.
The West Ham campaign has so far been underwhelming, with the hammers who only gathered four points of a possible 18. Four defeats left them in 19th place, with an impressive 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest as their only victory. That result was not enough to save Graham Potter from the bag, with Nuno Espirito entering Santo as his replacement.
After his term of office as West Ham boss started a draw against Everton, the addition of a reliable center-forward could considerably strengthen their survival bid.
Chris Wood and Raúl Jiménez both played crucial roles under the Portuguese coach during his spells in Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, with the attention of the value of proven goals in his system.
That said, the hammers can be wiser to pursue a more experienced, prime minister-tested striker instead of spending £ 34 million on Roque, who had difficulty finding his foot during his first spell in Europe.
