West Ham are now looking at a move from AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott

West Ham United are considering a plan to sign AZ Alkmaar’s prolific centre-forward Troy Parrott. Ekrem Konur.

With Niclas Füllkrug expected to leave just 18 months after signing, the club is preparing to enter January in need of a new centre-forward.

Should that move happen, Nuno Espirito Santo would be reliant on Callum Wilson and youngster Callum Marshall, prompting the club to look for additional firepower – and Parrott has now become one of the options being considered.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed an excellent international breakthrough, putting in two standout performances for the Republic of Ireland. His brace against Portugal was followed by a hat-trick at Hungary’s Puskás Aréna to secure his country a World Cup play-off spot, and that form has sparked new interest in the Premier League.

According to WomenWest Ham have identified Parrott as a potential striker option to replace Fullkrug when he leaves the club.

Parrott joined from Tottenham in the summer of 2024 and is under contract in the Eredivisie until June 2029, with the club keen to keep him unless they receive a substantial offer after reportedly rejecting offers from Leeds United last summer.

Productive progress

However, it appears the Hammers won’t have to break the bank to land the prolific Irish striker as Konur claims De Kaasboeren want a fee of around £26million to sanction his departure.

The East Londoners will now have to act quickly to sign him as the likes of Everton, Leeds United and Stuttgart have shown interest in a move for the 23-year-old, who has already scored 18 goals for club and country this season.

With relegation fears looming, the Hammers must prioritize a move for a more productive striker in the January transfer window to help salvage their attacking woes as they have only scored 13 goals this season.

According to AZ, AZ is seeking compensation of £26 million for Parrott WomenA move for the Irish forward should be a no-brainer as it would give Nuno Espirito Santo not only a prolific striker but also an option that would be key to his rebuild at the London Stadium, similar to the success stories of Raul Jimenez and Chris Wood during his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest respectively.
