Abrar’s wedding comes during a brief lull in his demanding international career. Since making his debut for Pakistan in 2022, the spinner has quickly established himself as a key figure, having represented the country in 10 Tests, 11 ODIs and 23 T20Is. His consistency and wicket-taking are reflected in his tally of 93 wickets in all three formats, a figure that includes two impressive five-wicket hauls in Test cricket. His recent form saw him in the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025where Pakistan’s side reached the final before eventually losing to arch-rivals India.

Despite the ongoing personal celebrations, Abrar’s national obligation remains immediate. He has been named in the Pakistan squad for the next two-match Home Test Series against South Africawhich is scheduled to start on October 12 in Lahore. To fine-tune their skills for this crucial assignment, the national cricketers are currently participating in a training camp in Lahore, scheduled to last until October 8. Abrar is expected to rejoin the national training camp shortly after his Valima reception on Monday, making a seamless transition from wedding festivities back to preparing for the Test series against a strong South African side.
