Watch: Jack Draper puts an end to injury rumors and Australian Open eligibility

Rumors that Jack Draper would miss the Australian Open have been put to rest by the player himself as the Brit is set to return to action at the United Cup.

The reigning Indian Wells Masters champion, who suffered a recurring bone bruise in the second half of 2025, put his 2025 season on hold after the US Open.

At the beginning of December, Draper would participate in the UTS London. But that didn’t happen after the world number 10 withdrew from the event because he wasn’t ready to play. Last week, rumors began to circulate that the 24-year-old might be forced to extend his absence.

As he prepared for the new season in London, Draper caught up with fans. He was immediately asked if he wanted to play in Australia.

Draper: I’m going to play in Australia

“I’m going to play in Australia, yeah… It wasn’t the easiest time for me, because I was coming up. I felt like I was in a really good place, right at the top, and then something like this happens and I think you either stand still and let it guide you, or you keep going. And I think, yeah, that’s just a constant wheel, that’s just a constant wave. You know, you’re successful, then you struggle and then you become successful again. But you have to stay mentally busy, so I feel like I did a pretty good job of that,” the world number 10 said.

Draper will represent Great Britain with Emma Raducanu at the United Cup. On January 4, the top-ranked British male player will take on Japan’s Shintaro Mochizuki. Then he plays against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
