When VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 was launched in June, this marked more than just another release. It was the clearest signal, but Breadcom gambles big on the modern private cloud. In this episode of Tech Talks Daily I sat down with Prashanth Shenoy, who leads marketing and learning for the VCF division at Broadcom, to discuss what the launch means for companies and how those themes play live at VMware Explore in Las Vegas.
Prashanth shares how VCF 9.0 is designed to help companies operate private clouds with the same simplicity and scale as public hypercalers, while sovereignty, security and costs predictability remain for and center. He explains why this release is more than an infrastructure update. It is a shift to a workload-agency, developer-oriented platform where virtual machines, containers and AI-Deskloads can run alongside a consistent operational experience.
We also unpack Broadcom’s Headline announcements during the show. From making VCF an AI-Native Platform to the direct inclusion of private AI services in the foundation, the message is clear: the AI pilots from the past go into production and Broadcom wants VCF the standard house for Enterprise AI. Another important theme is CyberCpliant on a scale, where VCF now offers continuous enforcement, quick ransomware recovery and advanced security services that relate to the worries at the level of the board.
But perhaps the biggest collection meal is the momentum. Nine of the top ten fortune companies are now working on VCF, more than 100 million cores have given a license and dozens of companies of global giants to medium-sized insurers are on stage at VMware Explore to share their adoption stories. The so-called “cloud reset” about which Prashanth has written is not just theory. Companies reconsider their cloud strategies, seek cost transport, avoiding waste and building resilient, AI-ready private clouds.
This conversation emphasizes how Broadcom doubles on VCF with a unique focus, a huge R&D obligation and a clear vision on where the private cloud is going. If you want to understand why private AI, developer services and cyber featherpower are now central to the Enterprise strategy, this is a conversation that is worth hearing.
