Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill has released a detailed account of the heated confrontation with Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 323, claiming the Hall of Famer aggressively confronted him without explanation before the now-viral shouting match that required security intervention.
“I greet everyone. I go up to Joanna and say, ‘Hey, how are you doing, champ, how are you?’ She says, ‘Yes, what is it? Where’s your girl? Is your girl not here? Where’s your girl?’ I thought, ‘No, she’s not here.’” Hill said on his YouTube channel.
“She says, ‘you’re Mr. Big Player Man, Mr. Big Time.’ I’m thinking: what are you talking about? She says, ‘I don’t know how you end up in America, but I’m from Poland, we’re real gangsters, I don’t do this sh*t, I don’t play this sh*t.’ I’m just like you, what’s going on? What happened? So I asked her about this. Was something said? Have you heard anything? Talk to me. What’s going on? What are you angry about?
Hill says the meeting quickly escalated as he tried to clarify why Jedrzejczyk was upset, claiming she became increasingly agitated despite his repeated attempts to understand the issue. According to Hill, the situation then took a sharp turn.
“This lady has completely turned her case around,” Hill said.
“She says, ‘No, you son of a bitch, you like to talk, you like to talk!’ This is the first legible thing she says. It was like I was talking nonsense, let’s start there. What did I say? She said, ‘No, I’m not doing this, I’m from Poland, you son of a bitch.’ I’m like Joanna, just trying to understand what you’re angry about. What did I say? What did you hear that upset you so much?” he continued.
The situation took a more hostile turn when Jedrzejczyk allegedly began threatening Hill’s girlfriend and the former light heavyweight champion himself.
“I don’t have a goddamn lawyer, all this nonsense, I’m from Poland, I’ll destroy you, I’ll destroy you, I’m not afraid.” I’m like whoa, now she’s threatening me! Then she says, ‘I should have bashed in your girl’s head, go over and bash your head in too! I don’t give a fuck.’ Now she has threatened me, she has threatened my girl. I didn’t threaten her. I didn’t raise my voice to her. I asked her again: can you explain to me what the problem is? What was said?’” Hill continued.
“She said, ‘No, you’re talking sh*t, you’re talking sh*t.’ I just know you’re talking nonsense, I hear you’re talking nonsense.’ So you’re mad at me and you don’t know what I said. You can’t tell me what I said and you’re so upset, but you can’t tell me what I said or what you’re upset about.
Hill says the confrontation reached its breaking point when Jedrzejczyk approached him and continued making threats, escalating the situation further than he expected. At that point he claims his patience ran out and the argument became much more heated.
“You’re mad at me, you’re coming at me and all this stuff, and now I don’t care why you’re mad. I don’t care why you’re mad. I don’t care and you sound fucking retarded. I told her, you sound retarded, to me. Right now she’s already threatened me, she’s threatened my girl. I’m trying not to hear this bullshit. She’s gotten in my face now. She also approached me in my face like she was going to do something to me,” he said.
“All the people who talked about ‘Joanna was the aggressor.’ My girl wasn’t there. She was aggressive towards me. All the time. Threatening me, being aggressive towards me. Not once did I get aggressive, go to her, raise my voice, anything. At that moment I feel like you’re making a scene: this isn’t cool. The UFC staff comes, they grab her, start taking her away and now she starts talking really loudly about ‘just wait, I’ll fuck you and I’ll fuck your girl.’ I’m like, if you touched my girl I would have knocked you out and if you touch my girl I’m going to knock you out. She’s threatening to attack my girl.’
In Jedrzejczyk’s story, she gave no explanation as to what led to the confrontation at UFC 323. However, Hill has his own theory, or more specifically, a person he believes was responsible for the entire situation.
“There are absolutely no problems, but Joanna’s manager is playing this game. A few years ago, in New York, when the whole bus incident happened, we were there with a bunch of people, Joanna was in New York, I was in New York and I shot. I shot my shot, I tried to destroy. Her manager, the whole time we are at this event, it’s like I’m subconsciously trying to send messages to my girl, trying to dry the traitor. The point is, I’m real, I’m a very honest and transparent person. My girl already knew this, I had already talked to her about it. She kept doing this,” he said.
“If she does it again, my girl tells her, ‘I know about New York, I’m not mad, I’m not tripping over it, we’re good, I know my man, we’re good.'” Hill claimed.
“So her manager takes this and because she can’t drive a wedge or get the reaction she wanted, she immediately turns to Joanna and says, ‘Did you have sex with Jamahal?’ Says this to her in front of my girl, which could understandably be embarrassing for her, something I definitely never said. I said I was trying to sleep with her. She says this to Joanna. Joanna jumps up and says, ‘No, I’m not like that, I’m from Poland, we have morals, we don’t do that.’ Mind you, the whole time we were at this event my girl and Joanna talked, they were cool, best friends, the whole time. She didn’t trip over it at all.”
“From what I’ve been told and what she’s not saying publicly, she was upset that I told my girl she was in my DMs and she wanted to talk to me and stuff, and that’s why she was upset,” Hill said.
“Never happened. I never said that at all. Absolutely never said that. What I said was that I made the advances. I still don’t know why she’s mad. If she can tell anyone why she was made, please really let me know.”
