The racing career of Now act has come to an end with Bruce Edward, who has announced Bruce Edward from Fokkerij that the 10-time group winner will start with starting stud tasks.
The handsome son of There are some everywhere will be available for breeders by cooled or fresh sperm from Edward’s Durham Park Stud, Durham Lead, on the southeastern edge of Ballarat.
Known for its brilliant gate speed and daring front -hard style, act now won 22 races and was placed 12 times from 51 Starts for $ 910,885 in Stakes.
He won three group 1 races, four group 2s and three group 3s and was an 11-time ‘black type’ winner.
As a two-year-old act, six of his 10 Starts and $ 126,780 including the $ 50,000 Tatlow deployment and the $ 50,000 Vicbred Homegrown Classic won second in the $ 300,000 breeders.
The next seasonal act really came into its own, and won seven out of his 14 outings for a season of a season $ 342,755 and received the Australian 3yo Pacing Colt of the year. Numbered under his successes at that age were the Blue Riband $ 200,000 Victoria Derby $ 200,000 Breeders Crown Double, while he finished a good second in the $ 350,000 Australian Pacing Gold final.
At Four Act, the transition from racing now made limited age to free for-all class with aplomb. He won the $ 75,000 Victorian 4 & 5YO championship, the $ 50,000 breeders, the Maryborough Gold Cup and two heats from the Inter Dominion and finished third in the $ 500,000 Grand Final.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of ACT NOW’s wonderful career was his superlative success in the Victoria Cup 2023 $ 300,000, from the third last place in the home to defeat an elite field, including jump to fame, a wave, better Eclipse and spirit of St. Louis.
Jodi Quinlan, who now acted in 21 of his 22 victories, said: “He was the entire running horse. He had a high speed and was heavy. He was a beautifully layered horse that wore no boots. He is there with the best horses I have driven.”
Act Now’s flawless and well -balanced family tree contains bloodlines that have already been very successful in Australia. It combines the speed and course of direct scooter, the relentless endurance, walking and the reliability of Abercrombie, the precocity and natural athletics of the Western ideal and the endurance and the inherent toughness of Cam Fella.
ACT NOW is a son of the powerful Somebeachsome Where (1: 46.8), a pacer champion of his time, and today a leading father with 160 in the 1:50 list and the winners of more than $ 100 million. He now has a real impact in the breeder through his sons and grandsons.
Molly’s ideal, the non -walking Dam van Act now, has a record of 100 percent as a breeding brand with five winners from five foals from the racing time, including four in 2:00, a group 1 winner and two listed winners.
The next dam, the Lucky Star of the American bred Molly (1: 54.4), left six winners of Sub 2:00 from six starters, including the WA Diamond Classic winner Askmeilltellya. She was through Bettor’s pleasure from Pacific Destiny, by Artsplace and tracing to the USA Hall of Fame Immortal Spinster, the mother of champion NZ Sire Light Brigade and the Groots-Dam of Bachelor Hanover, a leading NZ Fader and Broedmurrie.
