The statements have since blown up on social media, with several influential figures in the mixed martial arts world voicing their opinions on the negative comments, including one of the greatest female MMA fighters of all time. Referring to the former UFC bantamweight champion’s comments about the promotion’s stalwart broadcaster, via her X account @BulletValentina, Shevchenko said:
“I see Joe Rogan as a huge expert in the field of martial arts, a noble man, a fighter, a sportsman and a good example for the youth!”
Valentina Shevchenko targeted for fight at the White House by a UFC champion
Valentina Shevchenko has a huge bout scheduled for later this month, but a prolific Ultimate Fighting Championship titleholder appears to be eyeing a fight with ‘Bullet’ depending on how things go in Shevchenko’s next fight. Shevchenko will fight former strawweight champion Zhang Weili, who gave up her 115-pound crown to challenge for Shevchenko’s flyweight belt at UFC 322 on November 15.
Kayla Harrison is the only current UFC champion from America, and a spot on the UFC White House card for June 2026 seems all but guaranteed for the former multiple Olympic gold medalist. Oddly enough, Harrison also mentioned that her highly publicized fight with Amanda Nunes could possibly take place in the first quarter of 2026.
This was mentioned by the UFC champion on Jorge Masvidal’s podcast, as Harrison stated [via Bloody Elbow],
“I’m going to shout at her [Nunes’] very quickly, and then, in my perfect world, Valentina beats Weili [and that fight happens at the White House].”
Also following up on the Ronda Rousey element from earlier in the article, Harrison joked [via Bloody Elbow],
‘Or everyone has been talking about Ronda [Rousey] come back, so that would be great.”
