Jannik Sinner continued his American open defending defense on dominant fashion while wiping along colleague Italian Lorenzo Musetti to reach the semi -final in New York.

“We know each other very well. We come from the same country, there are so many Italian players in the draw, so it’s nice to play here,” Sinner said.
“Of course Davis Cup play together and things like this have to take away the friendship, but if you shake hands, everything is fine.”
In a ruthless first set, the sinner rattled the first five games and gave only five points before Musetti finally had to get on the board for 5-1.
Sinner closed the opener after just 27 minutes, but his momentum delayed in the second set when Musetti performed his level.
But the top seed succeeded in taking the decisive break at 4-4 and served it comfortably before he broke twice in the third to secure the victory just before midnight at Flushing Meadows.
“From my point of view it was a great achievement, very solid,” Sinner added.
He has now won 26 consecutive games at Hard-Court Grand Slam tournaments.
The 24-year-old will be confronted with Felix Auger-Aliassy in the semi-final on Friday after the Canadian Alex defeated the Minaur of Australia.
