The US Under-20 men’s national team opened the World Cup game in an emphatic way.
The team of Marko Mitrovic rolled to a 9-1 opening night group phase victory over New Caledonia, with the help of goals of six different players. Parma -midfielder Ben Cremaschi registered a hat trick while Nolan Norris added his own brace.
Niko Tsakiris, Frankie Westfield, Taha Habrourre and Cole Campbell also registered their own goals in the result. Goalkeeper Adam Beaudrry’s second half of error led to the only goal of the Night of New Caledonia.
The Americans led 3-0 after the opening for 10 minutes thanks to the first two goals of Cremaschi and the head of Tsakiris.
Westfield’s header of a Brooklyn Raines Cross in the 28th minute extended the lead from the USMNT U-20 to 4-0 before Norris added his first goal of the tournament and Cremaschi was agreed.
Norris’s second goal of the night gave the Americans a 7-0 lead while Cremaschi took his second assist.
Habrane and Campbell themselves added a second half of goals, while Antoine Simane withdrew a comfort goal for New Caledonia in the 70th minute between the age of two.
In total, 16 players earned in the game when the Americans jumped to the first place in their group.
The USMNT U-20s will then be confronted with France on Thursday. Les Bleus also earned three points in their group stage opener, a 2-1 victory over South Africa.
