Today something extraordinary happened. Leicester Chairman, Owner and Provisional CEO, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha sat down for a one-on-one interview with club media journalist Dan Bates.
Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, or as we all like to call him, Khun Top, has only occasionally made his comments on the matchday programme, but he has not been seen in a public interview since Leicester won the Premier League almost a decade ago.
The situation at the club has been difficult for some time. Various branches of the fanbase have clearly told everyone that they are not really enjoying life as Leicester fans. Khun Top made several moves earlier this year to build some momentum, but the structure is far from robust and built for the regularity of the Premier League.
Khun Top talks about the fan advisory board because it was built to achieve some sort of unity, yet it seems like a long shot to get every voice of this very fractured fanbase under some sort of umbrella.
Khun Top mentions in his interview what really happened during the pandemic. Both King Power and Leicester City suffered. Brendan Rodgers’ support and the fact that many of those contracts never resulted in sales or new contracts made things difficult.
“I want people to come closer.” 💬
Khun Top speaks and promises to reconnect with our supporters after acknowledging the challenges and setbacks of recent seasons.

Khun Top also appears very modest and admits that he did wrong. But he says he believes a new direction in both communications and management structure will help the club return to a higher level.
This is what certain fans would like to hear, but still, after listening to what is being said on various fan channels, this seems far from enough for those very critical voices among fans.
The industries that have spoken very negatively about Khun Top in the past will not like what they have heard so far. These people want the whole thing gone, but after all our listening and reading, we believe this interview seems like a step in the right direction.
Just minutes after the interview ended, the club announced the interim appointment of Kamo tip Netthanomsak. She will look after the club’s commercial affairs on a daily basis and in some way take the lead and help Khun Top run the club.
There is also talk of the arrival of a new technical director at very short notice. This makes it clear that Jon Rudkin is in some sort of transition to a different role. This is a chat based on an article in The Telegraph and not something Khun Top talked about in his interview, which has not been officially confirmed as of yet.
To make a kind of summary of today’s latest events, we will say that it was interesting to listen to Khun Top. His humble and honest speech about the current situation seems to be a big positive. He gave us all a kind of confidence and belief, even without saying too much directly. Khun Top made no mention of any persons or discussions about staff moves. This all comes from that article in De Telegraaf. The crowd of fans, who we don’t really like to associate with, do believe that a discussed appointment of a technical director will push Jon Rudkin up the ladder. That move seems to be the answer to every problem the club has seen in recent years. We believe this is ‘bs’, big time.
No official statement has been made at all regarding any changes to the sports department. What we heard directly from Khun Top was that he has no other wish than to better connect with the fans and move the club in the right direction. He also said this could take some time. Consulting the article in The Telegraph, the change in leadership and new recruitment will not affect the ownership structure, with previous mention of possible new co-owners being invited to the club. There were no direct questions from Dan Bates about ownership issues. But during the interview, Khun Top said he was as committed as ever. He has no other plan than to keep the club and be its owner for the long term.
We’ll have to wait and see what will happen, but with no money, PSR issues and the situation the club is in at this point in the season, looking at their current position in the table, we’re keen to see what the next step will be.
The club is not poorly managed by any means when you look at what is being done in the academy department. That’s actually something the DOF is responsible for. So to be completely honest and understand what the big picture is of this, don’t just go out and talk if you don’t have a balanced view of this situation.
We all agree that this football club should be in the highest level and in the top half of the league. That should be the ambition and the goal, hopefully Khun Top builds that bridge and pushes the club in the right direction, that would be perfect.
