Noida-based UP Prometheans was on Monday named as the first franchise of PGTI’s ’72 The League’, which will start next month at three locations in Delhi-NCR.
UP Prometheans is owned by Prometheus School, founded in 2019 with the vision to nurture the next generation of global leaders through world-class education and holistic development.
Welcoming the franchise, PGTI President Kapil Dev said, “It is great to see the UP Prometheans being added to the league. It will create excitement as the excitement builds towards the start of the league.
“We congratulate and wish UP Prometheans for a fantastic inaugural season.”
Speaking about the association, Prometheus Schooo Founder and CEO Mukesh Sharma said, “We are delighted to be associated with PGTI’s ’72 The League’.
“Golf in India is at an exciting inflection point, and this competition represents a unique platform to nurture talent while raising the standard of the sport.

“This franchise strongly aligns with our vision and reflects a long-term commitment to the growth of Indian golf and emerging athletes.”
’72 The League’ features city franchises, each consisting of 10 professional players, selected through a player auction scheduled for January 31.
Golfers from the PGTI circuit will be part of the player pool, creating one of the largest competitive platforms Indian professional golf has ever seen.
Launched in partnership with Game of Life Sports, the competition kicks off on February 21, with the finals scheduled for March 6.
The first season will be held at the Classic Golf & Country Club, the Jaypee Greens Golf Course and the Qutab Golf Course.
The League will feature a fast-paced, impactful match play format designed specifically for television and digital platforms.
Also on the cards are Pro-Ams, immersive fan zones, live entertainment, exclusive behind-the-scenes digital content and premium broadcast production.
