Manila, Philippines-Helas Pilipinas lost steam in the last two sets and absorbed his first defeat in the Asian volleyball confederation (AVC) Ladies’ volleyball nations cup in the hands of Iran, 25-16, 21-24, 23-25, 13-15, on Monday in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Unfortunately, two points were removed from winning the game in the fifth set after the coupling of Shaina Nitura and Dell Palomant and the Aas of Vanie Gandler, 13-11, only for Zahra Salehi and Khalili Chermahini to bind the frame.

Angel Canino committed an expensive attack error that the Iranians sent on Match Point, 14-13, followed by an initial central error by Nitura, but coach Jorge Souza de Brito called for a challenge, who was considered successful to force an answer.

Palomata remained consistent with 10 points. Bella Belen and Fifi Sharma each brought in eight points, while Nitura added six, with Jia de Guzman in the young team.

The Philippines are confronted with a must-win situation in his last Pool B matches against New Zealand on Wednesday and Kazakhstan on Thursday with only the top two teams of the group that go to the semi-final.
Chermahini led Iran with 21 points, while Masi Tabaghdehi and Salehi added 16 and 12 points respectively.
