UFC Rio gets HIT, Rafael Fiziev from the main event

Charles Oliveira needs a new dance partner for next month’s UFC Rio Main event.

On Friday it was revealed that lightweight Rafael Fiziev was from his fight with Oliveira, founded to head the return of the UFC to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on October 11, 2025.

Octagon -update First was the news about the withdrawal of Fiziev, who is reportedly due to injury.

Fiziev (13-4) missed the whole of 2024 because of an injury, but returned earlier this year and posted a 1-1 record in 2025 with a loss for Justin Gaethje, and recently a victory over Ignacio Bahamondes. The Gaethje Bout, a rematch, took a fight of the night bonus.

Regarding “Do Bronx” Oliveira (35-11), the former lightweight champion wants to jump back from a loss to Ilia Topuria on UFC 317, who saw the Brazilian shoot in an attempt to claim his old title, abandoned by Islam Makhachev.

UFC Rio takes place on October 11, 2025 in the Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The following match-ups have been reported for the event:
