It’s not the originally announced main event, but UFC Mexico City moves forward with former two-time flyweight champion and Mexican fighter Brandon Moreno at the helm.
Instead of Asu Alamabayev falling out, Lone’er Kavanagh accepted the call to fill in on short notice. The English flyweight, 26, is just 9-1 as a pro and is coming off a loss to Charles Johnson. Still, he remains a top talent at 125 pounds, and he’ll get a chance to prove that on Saturday at the CDMX Arena in Mexico City, Mexico.
In the co-main event, Ecuador’s Chito Vera took on rising star David Martinez in a key bantamweight bout. Another Mexican newcomer, Daniel Zellhuber, was paired with veteran King Green.
