World U19 Championship 2026: Format of the tournament
Sixteen teams will compete over three weeks for the coveted Under-19 World title. The competition follows a familiar and competitive structure, with teams divided into four groups of four. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage, where performances will continue to determine the semi-finalists. From there, the top two teams will advance to the semi-finals, culminating in the final showdown to crown the world champions.

The groups for the tournament consist of a mix of traditional powerhouses and emerging cricketing nations. Group A includes Australia, Ireland, Japan and Sri Lanka, while Group B includes Bangladesh, IndiaNew Zealand and the US are battling for supremacy. Group C is led by England and Pakistan alongside Scotland and hosts Zimbabwe. Group D consists of Afghanistan, South Africa, Tanzania and the West Indies and promises competitive matches at various locations.
