British competitors won 13 table tennis medals at the World Transplant Games in Dresden, including Golds for Kristof Polgar and Patricia Collier.
Polgar won the Heren Singles 15-17 without dropping a match, culminating in a 3-0 (11-2, 11-8, 11-6) victory over Varun Anand by India. It follows his gold medal at the last edition of the Games, in Perth, Australia, in 2023.
Collier recorded gold for fellow countryman Evelyn Kearney in the Round-Robin Ladies Singles 70-79. She won their match 3-0 (11-1, 11-7, 11-8), so Kearney settled with silver.
In the Singles of the Heren 12-14 there was silver for Noah Raina, who was defeated in the final by Paul Korner of the host country-by the 3-2 (11-13, 6-11, 11-6, 12-10, 11-9) defeated him in the group phase, but Korner won the last 3-0 (8, 8, 7).
There was silver for Jade Carr in the ladies Singles 30-39 Round-Robin competition and ended behind Stefanie Krenmayer from Austria.
In the Round-Robin Ladies Singles 18-29, Millie Stobie Platts and Eloise Lowrie won, respectively silver and bronze, behind Edina Jakucs of Hungary. Millie won the meeting of the two British athletes 3-1 (11-3, 11-7, 10-12, 11-7).
Lucy Bowskill won Brons in the ladies Singles 40-49, missed 3-2 (11-3, 11-4, 12-14, 7-11, 11-1) to defend Siwaporn Bunya of Thailand in the semi-final.
Boryana Nankova and Helen Tasker both reached the semi-final of the Ladies Singles 60-69, but went to silver medal winner Bea van Germany and Champion Mei Wu van China.
In the double matches, Richard Morton & Wasem qureshi won silver in the men’s dubbles 30-49 and lost 3-0 (5, 7.6) to Bernat Bacsi & Janos Sendi in the final.
There was also silver for Jacob Guerreri & Oliver Edwards in the men’s dubbles 18-29 when they lost in the final to Panagiotis Letsios & Alexandros Diakoumakos of Greece.
Boryana Nankova & Lucy Bowskill became third in the Round-Robin Women’s Doubles 30-49 competition, behind couples from Germany and China.
It meant that Great -Britain fourth ended in the Tennis Medailles table, behind Hungary, Germany and Greece.
There were a total of 30 British competitors in the table tennis events, including Alex Bell from Newcastle, that to be seen on the BBC website Earlier this week.
This is the 25th staging of the games, which attracts around 2500 competitors from 60 countries, with 17 sports on the program. The competitions close on Sunday.
