Troon, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, is pleased to announce that it has been selected to manage the Lawrence Yacht and Country Club, a private facility in Lawrence, New York. Indigo Sports, a Troon-based company, will oversee the golf and racquet sports operations, real estate agronomy and sales and marketing for the club.Founded in 1924 on the south shore of Long Island, Lawrence Yacht and Country Club has been a fixture on the New York golf scene for more than 100 years. The private club features an 18-hole golf course designed by Devereaux Emmet and Jeff Lawrence, nine Har-Tru tennis courts, two pickleball courts and a 135-slip marina located in a protected basin along Bannister Bay.
“We are pleased to be working with the members of Lawrence Yacht and Country Club,” said Alex McGann, Troon’s director of operations. “With a mix of waterfront access and excellent amenities, this facility has an incredible history and an even brighter future.”
The clubhouse at Lawrence Yacht and Country Club features an inviting lounge, a full-service restaurant and the ability to host large-scale events including bar and bat mitzvahs, weddings, engagement parties and golf outings.
“After receiving extensive feedback from the community and conducting a thorough evaluation of the Lawrence Yacht and Country Club, the Mayor, Board of Trustees and Club Liaisons unanimously agreed that the club has the potential to deliver significantly greater value to the community as a whole,” said Mayor Nahmias, along with Trustees Felder, Roz, Parnes and Gottesman.
A number of new and exciting offers and enhancements are currently in development, including complimentary water and soft drink refreshments, towel service, expanded clothing selections and streamlined digital membership renewal and sign-up processes. This marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for Lawrence Yacht and Country Club.
