Former Congressman Trey Gowdy has a harsh prediction about John Bolton’s future. When asked by FOX News’ Sean Hannity how this will all turn out, Gowdy basically predicted that Bolton will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Some people on the right don’t like Trey Gowdy and some might even call him a RINO, but his comments here are important. Before running for a House seat, Gowdy served as a district attorney. A good one. So when he says this, it carries more weight. He knows his way around complex legal issues.

This isn’t looking good for John Bolton.

As a criminal defense lawyer, I have to tell you that eighteen of these types of cases really focus the mind because the jurors tend to view this as a very simple question. Did he have secret information?

Did he handle it wrong? And two arguments won’t work in that courtroom. One is that this is all old classified information. It doesn’t matter if it’s old or brand new. If it’s still secret, you’re breaking the law. The other argument is that everyone does this.

HANNITY: Yes. Okay. I’m going to ask both of you an exit question.

Trey, how does this end?

GOWDY: He is convicted and spends the rest of his natural life in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

HANNITY: Wow, that’s a prediction. What about Leticia James? As long as we do that, you will drive away all this good news for people who believe in justice.

GOWDY: Oh, I think the facts in Bolton’s case are stronger than the other two.

Again, put aside your feelings about Trey Gowdy and just focus on what he says about John Bolton’s future. It’s a pretty harsh prediction and coming from someone who knows the legal system.
