Travel trends 2026: what, where, when, why and how? – Travel Friday

New year means new episodes of the Att resa podcast! It is time for the traditional exploration of travel trends in 2026. What is being talked about, where do people travel, when do they want to go, why do they want to travel and how do they travel? (And at least ourselves.)

Travel trends 2026: what, where, when, why and how?

To begin with, we usually see a phenomenon about traveling for one’s own well-being. In the years of pandemic and airline shame, travel would generally be “justified” and “defended.” If you were to travel now, there had to be a purpose (type me must on a business trip/meeting family/joining a relief organization/travel to get over my exhaustion, etc.). The well-being of the collective and the earth was somehow put first? Now we listen inwardly. What do I need for my well-being!? What makes me feel good? An analogy with a small airplane is very suitable to explain the phenomenon: “First start putting on the oxygen mask yourself before you can help someone else…”.

We just want the silence, the peace and quiet. And last but not least – away with all types of screens, thank you very much!

We talk about the why silence, calm and well-being is the strongest travel trend of the moment. Silence, silence, escapism – trips to check out from screens, news feeds and everyday noises. But above all; travel based on the individual. For zest for life, recovery and curiosity. – The traveling podcast

In this episode we also look back at the ice cream snacks for 2025. Did it turn out as we thought? Of course, we also talk about our own travels, both those we have completed and those planned for the future. This is just a great episode to start the new year of travel. Enjoy listening!
