– Mark Duarte has been added to the list. He was finally signed by the Americans yesterday. The other name I am asked several times every day is Hank Crone. Here are the facts about Crone from my knowledge and research:
- Crone’s Echl Rights are the property of Norfolk.
- Crone is not on the Norfolk schedule on the Echl website from this morning, so he did not sign with Norfolk.
- Crone was not included in Echl transactions yesterday, so no team acquired its rights.
- If an Echl team, including all, does not complete crone rights, he will not have a choice if he wants to play in the Echl, but to sign with Norfolk and report.
- Crone is still in Texas
- Allen is involved in the Sweepstakes for Crone’s rights, but also other teams. The price will not be cheap when you consider that Hank is a League MVP, and his ECHL career points per match average of 1.37 would be the highest in the competition this season. It will certainly be a high-end player or possibly two costs to acquire Crone’s rights from Norfolk.
– The first training of coach Martinson yesterday included five or six exercises, all of which had a system components because of the design. At the end of the training he was about the Set Breakouts that will be used in the scrimmages tonight and Sunday.
It’s just one practice, and it’s hard to draw conclusions, but two things struck me. Martinson has put together a very large team and he has many good puck carriers. You add that to the physicality of this team that you do not see in practice, and all -fans represent a treat. Martinson is known for needing boys who carry the water and boys who chop the wood. With this team he has many boys who can do both.
When you add all observations with one ice to the first class environment that TEAMEWENTER ILES JACK provided from a dressing room that would make an NHL team proud (see below), housing, top-of-the-line recovery equipment, helmets, sticks, etc., my opinion is that this team is coming together very quickly. It is a major change compared to the tight budgets of the Martinson teams in the past.
Other comments
– In the meantime you have probably seen photos of the new all -dressing room. If not, here is the press release of the Americans with a photo and some details. https://allenamericans.com/news/2025/10/americans-unveil-new-state-of-the-art-locker-room
I had the chance to sit down with Allen’s equipment manager, Matt Miletich, during training yesterday to ask him about the renovation of the Americans dressing room. Matt was the project manager for the renovation and has been working on the project since February:
Here is some of the information that Matt has shared with me on the Remodel Project of the dressing room of the idea of completion:
“We started talking about renovating the dressing room in February. The dressing room was 16 years old and Myles Vision, as a professional athlete itself, was to ensure that the players were cared for. They are professional hockey players and they need a professional dressing room.”
“At the end of the season, Jordan (head coach) and I started dining with Myles when he was in the city and discussed what we had put together for the renovation. We were lucky to work with a local company called Longhorn Lockers van Venus, TX, who has been in the 1980s since the 1980s. They are the best in things.”
Aside, I went to the Longhorn Lockers website and found this list of customers, which is only a fraction of their customer list:
- Dallas Stars
- Dallas Cowboys
- University of Texas
- University of Alabama
- Air Force Academy
- Baltimore Ravens
- Miami Dolphins
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Los Angeles Rams
- New England Patriots
- Colorado Avalanche
Matt told me that he had learned from Longhorn vaults that they did the changing rooms of every football team in the SEC, except South Carolina.
“We had the chance to visit the Longhorn Lockers facility in Venus (57 miles southwest of all). In addition to showrooms, they have six warehouses where they build everything on the spot; they outsourcing nothing, and it is all tailor-made.”
“We finally looked at what Longhorn did with the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas stars to refine the design. Dry power (fans and air flow) for drying all the equipment of the players was a priority.”
“It took about five weeks from the moment that the dressing room was completely eroded to complete. In addition to the players’ stalls, the Build-Out included the new ceiling mounted logo, new floors, paint, new lights and new technology.”
Here are some details about the players’ stalls:
“The top of the tire board has five fans (two in the ceiling, three on the shelf), which will cause shin blades and the helmet. The middle board has two glove dryers and two skate dryers, plus two fans on the bottom of the board to circulate the air.”

“Under the two upper shelves is where the players hang their pants and shoulder fillings and where we hang their clean sweaters. This area has three tailor -made hooks with an American logo on the middle. There are six fans at the bottom of this area.

“The changing chair is an antimicrobial/antibacterial vinyl that is double stitched and filled. There is stainless steel storage behind the backrest and under the chair. At the bottom you have the background lighting stainless steel Americans logo.”

“Myles wanted the logo that was on the floor and could not be walked, moved to an LED lit logo on the ceiling to give the boys more space in the dressing room.”
Congratulations on Matt for a good job that has been done well under a number of stressful times, so that this project is brought from concept to completion. It was only completed on Wednesday, just in time before the start of the training camp. And thanks to Myles Jack for the vision and dedication to make the all -dressing room the best in the Echl. How much did the project cost? According to a video from Longhorn Lockers on their project with the Colorado Avalanche, the costs were $ 500,000. Based on the quality of the all project, I imagine that the costs are comparable.
Let me end with a quote from Longhorn Lockers: “Have you ever seen the dressing room of a Minor League hockey team that is better than almost every NHL team? Welcome to the brand new dressing room of De Allen Americans.”
I know that the team is making plans to have exclusive dressing room trips for season card holders (Patriot Club members). They will probably be planned somewhere in the middle of March, when the team is on a long road trip and the dressing room is not used for other events.
– The Belleville Senators lost their first pre-season match of the season last night and lost 5-2. All Americans in Belleville played in the game. Here were their statistics:
- Carter Savoie – scored a goal on his only shot of the game, plus/min of 0.
- Braidan Simmons -Fischer -no points, no shots, had a fight, plus/min of -2.
- Mark Duarte – No points, two shots, plus/min of 0.
- Sam Sedley – No points, one shot, two pims, plus/min of 0.
- Andre Anania – No points, three shots, plus/min of -2.
- Marco Costantini – played the last period, was confronted with four shots and stopped them all.
Belleville received some players back from Ottawa after a recent recall, so it is still to see how many of Allen’s players will be in the Belleville -Line -Up for the second (and last) pre -season match against Toronto, on Sunday afternoon (15:00 EDT).
The other question to be answered is when the players return to all (some will drive) and whether one of them will be signed with an AHL contract.
– The scrimmage of the Americans tonight is not open to the public, but the scrimmage tomorrow (Sunday) will be. The start time is 11:00 am. Contact your ticket representative for access to the Community Rink. I will arrive early and look out for everyone at the door.
– I post this on Echl statistics at the start of every season, but it never changes behavior. The Echl will be known forever as “the coast” for many.
While Echl training camps are starting, the endless memory for writers, bloggers, reporters, fans, players, coaches, etc.
What do the letters Echl stand for? Absolutely nothing
In a change that reflects his national presence, the East Coast Hockey League changed its name to easily repeat on 19 May 2003.
Did you know: here are the Echl statistics of today. The ECHL can match the number of teams in the NHL and AHL in 2026-27?
Here are Echl team changes in the past five seasons on the journey of the competition to match the NHL/AHL 32 teams:
2021-22: (27 teams)
Iowa & three added rivers
Brampon removed
2022-23 (28 teams)
Savannah added
2023-24 (27 teams)
