The aspiring fast bowler grew up in the cricket-mad Caribbean and played the sport before becoming the most recognized sprinter in the world.
Cricket was Bolt’s first love before he was encouraged by his cricket coach to try athletics in high school.

But now that the world record holder in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m is approaching his 40the birthday, Bolt has no plans to retire.
Speaking to Esquire Magazine, Bolt jokingly said he would be ready if Jamaican cricket called on him.
“I’ve thankfully retired from professional sport. I haven’t played cricket for a long time, but when they call I’ll be ready! [Laughs]”, said Bolt Esquire.
Given his new role as Director of Performance at his long-term sponsor (Puma), Bolt is unlikely to deliver fastballs anytime soon.
Bolt took the crown as the most decorated sprinter of all time, having won the 100 meters and 200 meters titles at three consecutive Olympic Games: Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016. He still holds the world records for the 100 meters (9.58 seconds) and 200 meters (19.19 seconds) that he set at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.
