Let’s face it, the clubs Scottie Scheffler uses PGA Tour victories such as Clockwork, are probably not the best for you or a recreational amateur.
But there are parts of Scheffler’s – or other top player – setup that you can use for your own game.
A large is Scheffler’s choice for driver and fairway wood shaft, the Fujikura Ventus.
Fujikura has one of the best years for a shaft company ever, after he has swept the four Majors with both Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy who plays Ventus Black shafts in their drivers. JJ Spaun plays the updated Ventus Black with Velocore+.
Ventus is the number 1 driver shaft on the PGA Tour, according to Darrell Survey, with 42.3 percent of players who use a Fujikura driver shaft during the Fedex St. Jude Championship Playoff event of this week.
During the episode of this Week van Golf’s fully equipped, Fujikura Tour -Rep of Marshall Thompson explained to hosts Johnny Wunder and Jake Morrow how Tour Pro Usage of Driver Shafts Sales pumps better than any other product category.
He explained a cascade-like effect when a number of players start to see another win with a specific shaft. Then they all start to switch.
“Every tour you go up, one of these guys can win on a certain week, right? Yes, sure, Scottie wins with a much higher clip,” said Thompson. “But I would say, we will always help every tour player we can. But yes, it absolutely helps when we get big names such as Scottie and Rory and Tommy. If someone we can use a Fujikura shaft, it is almost to watch, I think other tours are watching it, and it is almost to keep it with the Jones.”
Thompson said that much of the question was crashed by Bryson Deschambeau who went on his big chase, so more players have tried to optimize every little bit of distance they can do from their drivers. That means that more players are looking for a lead through a driver shaft and that more players test Fujikura products.
“Now they try a ventus, and we won those fights, and that helped to attribute that much of our product went into play,” said Thompson. “But I mean, from a sales point of view we will sell much more product if we have the top 50 players in the world who use it.”
