Tottenham are now looking at Juventus centre-back Lloyd Kelly

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a close eye on Juventus centre-back Lloyd Kelly over a potential summer move Ekrem Konur.

Kelly came through the ranks at Bristol City before joining Bournemouth in 2029, a move that has also seen Antoine Semenyo take the same path after coming through Bristol’s academy.

Remember new hair

The centre-back played a crucial role in the Cherries’ promotion to the Premier League and remained a mainstay in the squad, making 141 appearances in all competitions.

His performances at the highest level attracted the interest of several clubs before Newcastle United won the race to sign him on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

However, things did not go to plan at St James’ Park, no thanks to injuries, as he made just 14 appearances for the Tyneside club before being loaned out to Juventus last summer.

After impressing in his first spell, the Italian giants made his move permanent this summer and he has since been a mainstay in the first team, featuring in 22 of the Bianconeri’s 25 Serie A matches and seven of their eight Champions League matches, with his performances attracting the attention of several clubs.

According to WomenTottenham have joined other Premier League clubs in showing interest in Kelly and are keeping a close eye on the 27-year-old ahead of a potential summer move.

Although Juventus are not considering his departure, the 36-time Italian champions have given the 6ft 3in centre-back a valuation of between £34m and £43m amid interest from Spurs, the report said.

Conflict

However, the North London club is not alone in the race for Kelly Womenwho claims Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea are also eyeing the former England U21 star for next summer.

Despite significant investment last summer, Tottenham now sit 16th in the Premier League and just five points above 18th-placed West Ham United in the relegation zone.

Their poor run of seven wins and eleven defeats in 26 games led to the departure of Thomas Frank, with Igor Tudor now appointed on an interim basis until the end of the season.

Champions League football now seems out of reach unless they accomplish the monumental task of winning the competition. This could lead to some high-profile departures, such as club captain Cristian Romero.

Should he leave, Kelly would be a good option to replace him as he has proven himself in the Premier League and has similar ball efficiency, combativeness in defense and less erraticity, making him an even more attractive choice.
