TotalEnergies (Paris:TTE) (LSE:TTE) (NYSE:TTE) and independent French consultancy and engineering group Oteis have signed an agreement to sell GreenFlex, TotalEnergies’ sustainable consultancy and solutions business, to Oteis, a divestment that reflects TotalEnergies’ strategy to focus its activities on the production and supply of energy.
With more than 800 employees and around thirty agencies in France and the rest of Europe, Oteis Conseil & Ingénierie is active in various areas: construction, water and development, infrastructure and industry. The group’s ability to integrate new teams and develop their skills following deals similar to the GreenFlex acquisition has driven strong growth in recent years.
Oteis plans to leverage GreenFlex’s expertise in environmental and social consulting, low-carbon energy performance and transition financing to establish a major new player with a full range of services and solutions in their markets.
For the GreenFlex teams, the deal represents an opportunity to expand into new markets while continuing to help companies and regions become more sustainable, decarbonize and improve their energy efficiency.
Following the divestment, TotalEnergies will become a major customer of GreenFlex and sign a contract for the production of French energy saving certificates (CEEs).
Completion of the project is subject to the usual conditions, including consultation of employee representatives and approval of competition authorities.
