This week we look at the best free agent wide receivers of the 2026 offseason. There could be several big names on the move; some lesser-known guys who could step up if they find the right situation also play a role. And then there’s Alec Pierce, who broke out this year after unexpectedly landing an expanded role in Indy. Let’s see how they stack up.

2026 Free Agent Wide Receiver Rankings
1. George Pickens
George Pickens had a career year in his first season with the Dallas Cowboys. With personal bests in receptions (93), yards (1,429) and touchdowns (nine), he finally approached the potential that many saw in him when he entered the league in 2022. In addition to pure production, Pickens’ efficiency was of the highest level. He had an EPA of +112.1 and a Juke Rate of 21.5%, third and second respectively among wide receivers in 2025. Additionally, his 29.6% Dominator Rating and QB Rating per Target of 114.9 help solidify him as the top dog among this year’s free agent wide receivers.
George Pickens’ explosive assessment
The general feeling seems to be that the Cowboys will use the franchise tag on Pickens to keep him in Dallas. But nothing is official yet, so we have to acknowledge the possibility that he is on his way. Plus, we all know that the unexpected happens often in the NFL. I have to say, though, that I’m not so sure Dallas isn’t the best place for Pickens’ fantasy value. The Cowboys’ offensive pace, packed with passing volume, along with their objectively terrible defense, creates an environment that could produce two fantasy WR1s.
2. Mike Evans
It’s hard to imagine Mike Evans donning the jersey of another team after 12 years in Tampa Bay. But this is the NFL, and Tampa has a pretty loaded receiving room; this thing could definitely go either way. This year, Evans saw his impressive streak of 1,000-yard seasons come to an end. He tallied 30 receptions on 62 targets in the eight games he played, totaling just 368 yards. Injuries obviously hampered his availability and production in 2025.
Even though the former Aggie will turn 33 at the start of his 13th season, he is still a top talent. Returning from a broken collarbone, Evans was highly targeted, even though his shooting was limited to 55% in Week 15, 66.7% the following week, and then nearly 75% in the final two games. During those weeks he earned twelve, nine, seven and two goals respectively. The last game was on a rainy night against the Panthers, when Tampa Bay really relied on its run game, with Baker Mayfield dropping just 22 times.
Evans’ ADOT, Dominator Rating, and Target Rate all point to a player still capable of putting up high-quality fantasy production. Additionally, Evans, who still stands 6-foot-4 and 231 pounds, will be a prime target in the red zone until he retires.
3.Alex Pierce

Alec Pierce’s athletic profile
Just like Pickens, Alec Pierce also achieved new heights in the 2025 season. The Colts’ 2022 second-round pick saw an increase in all facets of his game. From targets, routes and positional alignments to the obvious stats evidenced by the box scores, Pierce emerged as a top option in Indianapolis. While finishing fourth on his team in targets (84), Pierce set the pace in receiving yards, tallying 1,003. Tyler Warren, the star rookie tight end, finished second in that statistic (and first in targets, for that matter) with 817 yards.
With injuries spread across the wide receiver position and quarterback Daniel Jones going down in early December, Pierce resigned. Considering his previous role was primarily that of a vertical deep threat, his 98 slots (12.1%) indicate his versatility. However, Pierce is still doing his best work in the field, as many of these Opportunity Metrics demonstrate.

Alec Pierce’s odds stats
No doubt, Pierce’s development into a more well-rounded receiver in 2025 will catch the attention of teams looking to expand their wide receiver corps. I believe he will ultimately stay in Indianapolis. Depending on what other moves the team makes (maybe Michael Pittman Jr traded or cut), he could see an increase in value if he stays. However, it is definitely worth monitoring. Las Vegas and Pittsburgh, among others, could be candidates for Pierce. Signing with either of these teams would create quite a buzz in the fantasy community.
4. Juan Jennings
Over the past two seasons, Jauan Jennings has gone from role play and blocking receiver to a key cog in San Francisco’s offense. In 2024, he led the team in targets (113), and this past year was second only to Christian McCaffrey with 90 targets. Along with the dramatic increase in targets and receptions, Jennings has emerged as one of the top threats in the red zone. His 19 red zone targets were good for fifth among WRs, resulting in nine touchdowns, which ranked him sixth.
While not the fastest or smoothest player in the league, the former Volunteer has great hands and knows how to get open. In addition to his general knowledge, he does all the little things that coaches love, the things that keep players on the field: things like pushing his butt, knowing his assignments, situational awareness and playing with discipline.
Either way, it will be interesting to see how things turn out for Jennings. It appears Brandon Aiyuk is destined to retire from the 49ers this season. Ricky Pearsall, despite all his talent, has not been able to stay on the field. Considering these factors, there are plenty of incentives for John Lynch and co. to want to keep Jennings in San Fran. Wherever he ends up, Jauan Jennings could be a valuable addition to the WR3. And he has the upside of finishing as WR2 on any given week.
5.Romeo Doubs
The former fourth-round pick for the Green Bay Packers always seems to be in the right spot. Romeo Doubs was the one constant in an otherwise constantly fluctuating wide receiver corps. Time and time again, in high-leverage situations, quarterback Jordan Love looked to Doubs to move the chains. His ADOT the past two years was just over 12 yards. During his time in the league, Doubs has developed into a solid route runner, winning on intermediate routes at a decent pace.
In 2025, the soon-to-be 26-year-old set a career-high in yards, with a total of 724 yards. Considering Doubs was never really seen as “the guy” in this offense, it’s an impressive total, especially with the way Green Bay distributes the ball. He also earned 85 targets, the most since his sophomore year in 2023 when he earned 96. Jordan Love watched him regularly, and for good reason, as Doubs had a QB Rating Per Target of 110.1.
The Packers ranked 19th in pace of play (29.7 sec/play) and 27th in total pass attempts (489). As an unrestricted free agent, Romeo Doubs could find himself on a team this offseason with an offense that passes the ball at a higher rate and plays at a faster pace. He will also likely have less competition when he finds a new home. If this were to happen, I could easily see him being a solid WR3 for us in fantasy.
6. Rashid Shaheed
Rashid Shaheed found himself in Seattle at the trade deadline this season. Ultimately, he only started four games in attack. Because he lined up behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp, he came in primarily as a third receiver and operated as a downfield threat. Nevertheless, he made an immediate impact on special teams as a returner. Shaheed scored two special teams touchdowns in the regular season, one punt return and one kickoff return. He added another in the divisional round against the 49ers on the opening kickoff.
Despite his lack of quality production on offense, Shaheed is a polished receiver. For example, he scored 66 goals in his nine games as a Saint to start the year under first-year head coach Kellen Moore. That’s a pace of more than 100 goals in 17 games. He is an excellent umpire and has honed his route-running skills over the years, with great hands (one drop per year) and elite speed.
Wherever the former UDFA ends up, he will be an impactful part of the team.
Other notable 2026 free agent wide receivers: Wan’Dale Robinson, Christian Kirk, Jalen Nailor, Tyquan Thornton.
