1901
While the most wonderful team that introduced the big competitions this year, the White Sox still couldn’t prevent a big controversy before the summer was out.

Two SOX players were suspended after attacking referee Jack Haskell in the fourth inning of an 8-0 loss in Washington. When the third Honkman Bill Coughlin Senators took a walk to fill the bases on a disputed Bal-Four call, White Sox Shortstop Frank Shugart Haskell beaten and starting pitcher Cathode Boonde Haskell in his leg during the fight. 1915
The White Sox has bought Shoeeless Joe Jackson from Cleveland for $ 31,500 (almost a million today) together with pitcher Ed Klepperoutfield Braggo Roth And a player who is later mentioned. Jackson, despite the “Black Sox” scandal, is still considered one of the greatest batters in baseball history. Babe Ruth said he modeled his swing to Jackson’s, and Ty Cobb said that Jackson was the best batter he ever saw. Joe hit .356 for his career in the big competitions.

1926
Ted Lyons Disapped a no-hitter in beating Boston, 6-0, in Fenway Park. The Red SOx Only had two baserunners in the game, one on a walk and the other on an error by shortstop Bill HunfieldWho rumbled a ground ball and then threw high base.

Lyons, a future Hall-of-Famer, won 260 games in a 21-year career, all with the White Sox. His No. 16 was retired by the club in 1987.

1959
It was Nellie Fox Night in Comiskey Park, just like in the midst of a pennant race, the White Sox honored their second base man and future Hall-of-Famer. 1973
White Sox Werster Stan Bahnsen took a no-hitter in the ninth inning against Cleveland.
