Livramento is out of contract in 2028, and in preparation for the final 2.5 years of this contract, Newcastle are looking to commit to a new contract. However, this is unlikely to happen in the short term.
Tino Livramento is yet to make a decision on Newcastle’s future
According to Football insiderMick Brown has revealed that Livramento is expected to postpone any decision on his future until later in the season.
“I would be surprised if a decision is made about that now. Obviously the interest is there for Man City and Newcastle also want to keep him with the offer of a new contract because he is an important player for them. But I don’t think that is on his mind at the moment.”
“He wants to go to the World Cup with England, and obviously getting fit again and performing for Newcastle will give him the best chance of that. If he then goes to the World Cup and impresses, that could obviously have an impact on his future because there will be more attention for him.”
“So he could postpone signing a new contract and see what his options are later. Either way, I expect this is something we will have to wait until after the World Cup because that is his focus at the moment.”
Is Tino Livramento the right-back Manchester City need?
Livramento has done well since joining Newcastle in 2023 and is widely regarded as one of England’s best full-backs. He would undoubtedly be a top signing for Man City, although getting a deal done will be far from easy.
