With the training camp from tomorrow (Monday, September 29), the Minnesota Timberwolves made a small move and Alize Johnson signed. The 29-year-old attacker is only a year, Training Camp Deal.
Free Agent Forward Alize Johnson has agreed to a one -year deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group tells ESPN. The five-year-old NBA veteran has the opportunity to compete in Timberwolves Training Camp.

At the time of this letter it is not confirmed if this is a contract from Exhibit 10. However, that probably feels that the road makes free for Johnson to become a member of the Wolves G League team if he doesn’t make the schedule.
Johnson spent five years in the NBA, playing for the Indiana Pacers, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs. He was previously the 50th general choice in 2019.
The 6-foot-7 Vooruit played for the last time for the Spurs in the 2022-23 season. Last season Johnson played for the Kawasaki Brave Thunders in the Japanese B.League. Johnson on average 12.7 points, 9.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in Japan.
Johnson has posted 2.5 points and 3 rebounds for his NBA career. Johnson is best known for his talent for crowds and rebound. Johnson quickly recorded a 21-rebound game with the nets in 2021. Although this movement is low, it is also somewhat surprising that the wolves did not focus on a younger player, just like with their other training camp.
Johnson will compete for a grid place with the wolves
Technically, the wolves have an open grid place. Nevertheless, Johnny Juzang is the clear leader it deserves. If Juzang does not earn this schedule, the wolves will probably keep this last grid open for a much -needed extra definitive flexibility. Anyway, Johnson now has a clear path to play with the Iowa Wolves G League team.
Johnson joins Juzang, CJ Fulton and Nate Santos on the Wolves Training Camp Roster. It probably feels that Johnson, Fulton and Santos will play with the Iowa team this season. Juzang could join them if he doesn’t make the last selection. However, it is a real possibility that Juzang would have a two -way contract, and the Wolves would again delete their two -way players in this scenario.
Currently Rookie Rocco Zikarsky and second -year players Enrique Freeman and Trsiten Newton form the two -way players of the Wolves.
In the end, signing Johnson is a small step that probably doesn’t affect the Minnesota team. Nevertheless, it emphasizes the affinity of the organization for defensive players with versatile skills. Last season, the Iowa Wolves had a competition-strict 7-27 record. Maybe Johnson (and others) will help the team to turn around.
