TikTok has announced that this is the case expanding its partnership with the International Ski Federation (FIS)to bring more winter sports content to the platform and help build on the increasing engagement with the app.
And with the Winter Olympics just a few weeks away, this could be a major expansion, with TikTok looking to capitalize on the rising popularity of winter sports to build more community interaction.
According to TikTok:
“Throughout the 2025/2026 winter sports season, fans will once again enjoy a front-row view of the most compelling moments with behind-the-scenes access via FIS’s nine dedicated TikTok competition accounts. From downhill skiing, ski jumping, snowboard freestyle and much more, TikTok is thriving #wintersports community brings the atmosphere and excitement of the competitions to the platform.”

And as mentioned, this could be an important partnership, especially now that winter sports are about to take a big leap in global attention.
TikTok says interest in winter sports has grown on the app, with posts increasing by more than 1,600% in the past year.
“This resulted in more followers (over 600%) and greater reach and engagement (+4400%). One of the standout moments of the season on the platform was a breathtaking Clip for ski jumping by Austrian Daniel Huber, which received more than 100 million views and more than 30,000 comments, showing how global the #wintersports has become a community.”

As such, collaborating with FIS on more winter sports-based content could help make TikTok a more important platform for connecting fans, while creating more opportunities for advertisers in related sectors.
In addition to this extensive content partnership, TikTok and FIS are also launching a special program aimed at supporting athletes in increasing their presence on the platform.
Which again will also facilitate expanded marketing opportunities, through branded content partnerships and other sponsorship approaches.
