What is old is new, at least in the wild world of Restomods. For only the small price of a Gazillion dollar, you can take a classic car and make it even better and faster than the original designers could ever have imagined while retaining the soul of a classic. I asked you which car you would get again, Grenza Time and Money, and you answered with a really surprising distribution of nice little roadsters to Malaise era Lane Queens. It was satisfactory to see support for the incorrectly understood Chevy Corvair in the comments! Thank you for all the great ideas for Restomods when I am rich. I will definitely call you in the Insta post. Without more delay, keep reading to see which cars Jalopnik -readers deserve a cool restomod.
I am not the only one in my Corvair -Love
I agree on the Corvair, but not about the 1st generation, the 2nd generation was much sexier, real 4 -wheel independent suspension, can add a double master cylinder for safer brakes, disc brakes for disc, electronic ignition, fuel injection and reinforced suspension.
And
GM had a completely new Corvair on the drawing table for the 1970 model year. It was destroyed due to the decrease in the sale of the last 68-69 models and the popularity of the compact Nova and Camaro and the new Vega. It had been related to a smaller Corvette. Imagine they built it, Chevrolets 911.

I wasn’t even sure to use which era, they are all so great
Alfa Romeo Spider-Mooie, classic Italian looks and would look great/sound if it received the Restomod treatment that received some of his historical components. More aggressive/modern tires together with a beautifully updated engine … something like a K20 from Honda, or SR20Det from Nissan or even a kind of BMW variant such as an S54 if we want to get wild.

Restomod all things!
All. I am in the team, Restomod everything during my outdoor season of Team Baja everything.
To be more specific, if I won a small lottery, I would like to do a BEV testomod of a Gen 3 Camaro in a metal blue Hot Wheels. However, each of the muscle cars of the 1980s is my general preference.

A fierce example of the American muscle
68-69 Buick GS400. It has beautiful body lines that can be updated and accentuated to make an absolutely amazing, unique and modern muscle GT car.

It’s hip to be a square
VW Type 3 Squareback
Imagine a Porsche 964 Carrera 4 -Driving Line, with an interior with 4 seats in the plaid leather of the highest quality, polished chromium and teak wood in the 70s. The body would be so stock that may look like, with only subtle changes to improve aerodynamics for modern tires and wieling plates for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs for spat signs.
And
A mint ’72 banana-yellow squareback was my first daily at 16. A heating/defrost that achieved more than just melting shopping bags that were placed in the rear foot pairs would have been the ultimate luxury at the time. God, I miss those car and his peculiarities for a few days. The spare tire pressure fed the windscreen sprayers to cry out loud!

A set of small cars to love forever
First Gen MR2, MGB, Fiat 124 Spider, First Gen Celica, Early Datsun 240-260-280Z cars … Each of these would be great with a smooth, modern 2.0 engine that makes around 250 hp. Motors of that size are everywhere and relatively cheap, so you have money left for paint, upholstery, massaging the suspension, good tires, etc.

It’s so happy to see you
Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite. Forza Horizon 4 had a seasonal challenge in which you raced on a forest road on an improved version against a group of dirt bikes. The small size and lightweight of the car made it challenging but fun to tame. So imagine how insane a real build would be.

Thunderbirds go!
Malaise era Personal luxury cars such as Thunderbirds and the Lincoln Mark series, but especially those where the styling checks wrote that could not cash in the powertrain. Specifically the 1978-79 Dodge Magnum. Upgrade the powertrain and chassis dynamics and update the interior to modern luxury standards, you will end with a fairly cool Grand Tourer.

Follow your dreams at 88 miles per hour
I know it has been tried, but I want the DMC 12 to the north. Except that I want to go through the car error through bolt, improve the fit and finish while I go. Put it on 16 “or 17” wheels. I think DMC from Texas sells a set.

What, this old thing?
Much good have been mentioned and I would not be against a Restomod of it. What about a VW thing?!
