Wedges can be just as personal as putters, and when you look at the wedges the top pros will be using in SG: Around-the-Green in 2025, it’s clear there are many different ways to get the ball close to the hole.
While one brand, Titleist’s Vokey Wedges, dominates this list with six of the top 10 and each of the top 4 players, there is only one repeat grind among the six lob wedges. It’s no surprise that both Patton Kizzire and Russell Henley use the SM10 T-Grind for their lob wedges, one of Vokey’s most popular grinds on the PGA Tour.
But in the top 10, the A+, A, L and K* grinds also play a role as lob wedge choices, showing the variety of different delivery patterns and shot priority among the PGA Tour’s top wedge players this season.
Interestingly, all of these grinds are considered low or mid-bounce offerings by Vokey and only the T-grind is available in Vokey’s retail range.
The rest of the top 10 is completed by three Cleveland wedge users and one Callaway wedge user.

2025 PGA Tour strokes gained: Around the Green leaders and which wedges they play

Titleist Vokey SM10 Raw Custom Wedge
For every shot, every lie, every course, there is a grind to suit your swing. Finding the right gravel to suit your swing and playing conditions will give you the best surface interaction, contact and hitting performance. Master craftsman Bob Vokey has spent decades creating, developing and improving his tour-proven grinds to suit players of all levels. Anyone can craft a wedge, but it takes a master to turn a piece of high-end technology into a tool for creative control. Bob’s six tour-proven grinds are designed to provide maximum creativity, versatility and consistency, all carefully developed through years of working with the best players in the world. PROGRESSIVE CENTER OF GRAVITY SM9 features a progressive Center of Gravity (CG) across the entire loft, which optimizes ball flight, accuracy and forgiveness. Using tapered top lines and varied hose lengths, the Vokey R&D team has increased the height of the center of gravity on the higher lofts, promoting lower, more controlled flight. The center of gravity is also forward of the face, resulting in a greater moment of inertia, exceptional feel and a club face that simply wants to stand straight at impact. SPIN MILLED GROOVES SM9’s patented Spin Milled grooves are carefully engineered via a new cutting process to maximize spin and durability. The process begins with sawing the face perfectly flat with a high-speed saw. Then each groove is cut individually based on loft and finish; low lofts (46°-54°) are designed with narrower, deeper grooves, while higher lofts (56°-62°) have wider, shallower grooves. Micro-grooves are individually cut between grooves, maximizing spin on part hits. A patented heat treatment is applied to the impact area that doubles the groove’s durability without affecting feel, making it the most durable groove in golf. The process is not complete until each Vokey wedge is 100% inspected for the highest quality and performance.

Cleveland RTX Full-Face 2 custom wedge
Featuring a groove-packed face in an advanced high-toe profile, RTX Full-Face 2 Wedges provide even greater versatility from any position or condition on the green. Packed with HydraZip, ZipCore and UltiZip technologies, RTX Full-Face 2 is built to help players achieve bold, open shots around the green. HydraZip Our new dynamic beam and laser-milled line system creates roughness to improve friction, maximizing spin in all conditions and from anywhere on the green. Visually, the RTX Full-Face 2 Wedge faces are more muted than the previous generation, reducing glare at address. ZipCore Our proprietary low-density core technology has evolved exponentially for RTX Full-Face Wedges, with up to 96% more ZipCore material contributing to an MOI gain of up to 13%. By positioning the center of gravity exactly where you hit the ball, ZipCore gives players more spin, distance, consistency, feel and control on every shot.

Cleveland RTZ custom wedge
All-new RTZ wedges are made with Z alloy, an all-new steel formula that enables a no-compromise design approach for incredible feel, better durability and greater consistency for our best-performing tour wedges yet. Plus, there’s an all-new ADAPT grind with full-surface grooves, making RTZ Wedges more versatile than ever before. Z-Alloy Z-Alloy is a brand new steel that feels better. It is softer, lighter and remarkably durable. It gives RTZ Wedges superior feel, better forgiveness and more consistency. On RTZ Tour Rack Wedges, Z-Alloy’s rust-resistant properties provide longer-lasting, like-new performance. HydraZip HydraZip is a unique system of face punches and laser-milled lines formulated to maximize spinning performance in wet conditions. This technology is dynamically configured by loft groupings, which helps balance spin across the lofts while maximizing spin under adverse conditions. ZipCore This low-density core technology replaces heavier material in the heel and tubing area with a lightweight, low-density vibration-dampening material. This patented core allows us to move the center of gravity closer to where you hit the ball, while adding MOI. UltiZip UltiZip’s sharper grooves cut through grass and debris on contact, while deeper grooves help make room for grass, sand, dirt or water to clear the impact zone, giving RTZ Wedges stronger, more consistent spin from the fairway, rough or bunker.

Callaway Opus SP custom wedge
SPIN POCKETâ„¢ CONSTRUCTION A redesigned two-piece structure main design strategically reshapes mass to optimize center of gravity locations. The Spin Pocket redistributes weight higher, raising the center of gravity and promoting a lower, more penetrating launch. The result is more spin and improved control, especially when you need to hit breakaway shots or attack tight pins. NEW SPIN GEN 2.0 FACEâ„¢ The most advanced face in OPUS history. A new 17° groove angle with a tighter pitch provides more groove edge contact for more consistent spin across different lies. Combined with a more deeply shaded laser pattern across the face, Spin Gen 2.0 produces improved friction for increased bite and stopping power on all types of approach shots. SHAPE 6 – TOUR VALIDATED PROFILE Trusted by Tour players for its clean, confident look at address, Shape 6 offers precise leading edge shaping and refined sole geometry. Shape 6 is the sixth and final iteration in the shaping phase of the Opus prototype, validated by Tour players and major champions. OPUS SP introduces progressive shaping to gap wedges to fit seamlessly with modern iron sets, creating a more cohesive setup from top to bottom. X GRIND – VERSATILITY WITH BOUNCE By popular demand, the X Grind returns in OPUS SP. Designed for shotmakers who want more bounce for forgiveness without sacrificing versatility. The X Grind is ideal for players who like to open the clubface around the greens or play on firmer grass. It’s the perfect blend of playability and performance in a wide range of recordings and conditions.
