Turf -upgrades at the clubs at Kingwood Preserve Tradition, promote the test
Houston, TX – The clubs at Kingwood, a member of the national portfolio of members of the clubs of members, is proud to announce the large reopening of the Deerwood club after an extensive Greens renovation.
Deerwood, a beautiful layout that was home to the PGA Tour Champions event of Doug Sanders for eight years, is considered one of the most important courses in Texas. It is in the top courses in Texas by the Dallas Morning News And has organized qualifications for the PGA Tour. The iconic 13th hole was made famous in the film Tin Cup, which further confirmed the status as a wave monument in Texas.
The Greens Renovation Project was a transforming initiative that was designed to improve the quality, playability and a long service life of the greens of the course and at the same time honoring legendary history. The project recovered De Groenen to their original design from 1982 and recaptured the aesthetic and strategic elements proposed by the founding architects of the course. By extending the greens to their original sizes, the course added an impressive 40,000 square feet to the surface, and offers more varied pin placements and strategic challenges that really make Deerwood unique.
A high-quality green mix was installed and carefully prepared to protect the health of Tifeagle Bermuda Greens and Tahoma 31 environment, causing lively, resilient putting surfaces. T -piece bins were surfaced again with Tahoma 31 to improve playability and visual attraction, while drainage and irrigation modifications ensured optimum grass growth. Additional improvements included planting Tiftuf Bermuda SOD in selected weak areas, the re -attracting of sniff patterns, treework and refreshing tree beds with pine stro and black mulch, increasing the aesthetics of the course and the overall playing experience.
