Mykale Baker says he had not clocked in the night of his graduation. Without wages he just wanted to be of service to his Burger King team.
Mykale Baker, a teenager in Georgia, went to work on the graduation evening. Without a uniform or Naamsag, Baker went to work and only wore a graduation and medal. Since then he has been gifted with more than $ 200K of donations to his future.
After graduating from Mill Creek High School, Baker stopped at Burger King, his workplace, to get a meal late in the evening. He noticed that his colleagues had difficulty keeping up with orders, he jumped on the food cline to help.
While he was in the Drive Thru, Maria Mendoza saw the cheerful graduated high school making hamburgers with a smile. She took a video from the teenager to not only share his joy, but also his work ethics with Tiktok. Her first video emphasized Mykale, who sacrificed a night that was dedicated to his own personal performance to help his colleagues.
The Caption of Mendoza was simple: “This young man deserves a fair.”
Baker said he wasn’t starting to work because he wanted to earn money. Without wages he joined the Hamburgerlijn to serve his team.
“I wasn’t even clocked,” Baker said CBS News. “I just turned on gloves and said:” What do you all need help with? “
May 22 the video from Baker was placed on Tiktok and quickly got a grip. Mendoza has set up a GoFundMe for the new graduate and supporters appeared on and off. Some wondered if Baker would receive the money, but within a few days Baker Mendoza met Burger King and the teenager announced that he was $ 6,000 richer.
“I like to help people and don’t expect anything back,” Baker said CBS News. “I’m just that.” “I knew that all the good that I put there will come back to me somehow,” he went on.
Since the first video, the Goofundme has for Mykale $ 200,664 picked up. Burger King has also awarded both the daughters of Mykale and Mendoza with fairs of $ 10,000. Indeed, all the good that he has put in the world has returned to him. Baker initially intended to take a gap year before they go to university due to financial limitations. It seems that it will no longer stand in the way of him. The selfless young man is planning to register in the fall to the Gwinnett Technical College.
When asked what he would like to pursue, he said without hesitation “car mechanics”.
