The Opener: Raleigh, Schwarber, Red Sox, Al Central

Here are four things that we will monitor today around the baseball world:

1. Raleigh chases the record of the judge:

The Mariners held it already west yesterday, and they did that on the back of two more home runs of Al MVP candidate Cal Raleigh. Those homers were the 59th and 60th of the season of Raleigh, making him the seventh player in the MLB history to hit 60 long balls in a single season. With the records for most home runs through a catcher, most home runs by a sailor, and most home runs all locked up by a Switch-Hitter, Raleigh still has an important milestone that he can reach this year: the Al Home Run Record, set by colleague Al MVP candidate Aaron Judge Only three years ago. Raleigh would need two more gay people to match Judge’s record and three more to break it. That will be a big order with four more games, but Raleigh has already beaten four gays in his last four games and has recorded 11 Multi-Homer competitions throughout the year.

2. Schwarber chases Howard:

Raleigh was not the only Star Slugger who had a multi-gay game last night. Kyle Schwarber Hit his 55th and 56th home runs of the season, so that he is only left behind two dingers Ryan Howard‘s Franchise record of 58 Homers. Just like Raleigh’s pursuit of the Al -record, Schwarber is made with long chances with four games left on the calendar. However, he benefits from those games that are against non-preservation; Philadelphia wraps a series against the Marlins today before completing their regular seasonal schedule with a three-game that has been against the twins, which have been the worst team of MLB since their sale at the Handelsdeadline.

3. Red SOX aim to conquer:

The Red Sox could hit their ticket for the late season today. They go for the sweep against their rival Blue Jays division and send Brayan Bello (3.34 ERA) To the hill while Toronto opts for a Bullpen game opened by Louis Varland (3.10 ERA in 72 relief performances). Boston, however, could still click even if they lose that game, because they also lock up a postsease spot like the athletics and rightty Get JT (4.57 ERA in 15 Starts) succeed in bringing the Astros and Southpaw Framber Valdez. This year Valdez has a solid 3.75 ERA in 30 Starts, but it is worth noting that he has been struggling badly with an ERA of 6.71 since the beginning of August. If and when the Red Sox hits their postseason ticket, this will be their first trip to the play -offs since 2021.

4. Guardians go for sweeping:

The beautiful Cinderella Run van Cleveland for the Al Central Crown cannot apparently be stopped. The Guardians were no fewer than 9.5 games of the first place in the first place on 10 September, but they stormed the only head of the Al Central Lead by winning 18 of their last 21 games-including two in a row against the Nu-deed Place Tigers, who spent almost the entire season in first place. The guards have not lost back-to-back games since 1-2 September.

She would not have catapulted that historic run in the first place if Detroit had sustained his earlier pace – or even if the Tigers had just played properly. Instead, the opposite of last year’s storybook in Detroit took place. The Tigers were planted in September with a record of 5-15, including a current Losing Streak of eight games. They are still in possession of a Wildcard spot and give a lead of one game about an Astros club that has lost five in a row. The Tigers will try to stop bleeding and push back into a draw for the division lead in today’s series. Detroit will turn to Rookie Righty Troy Meltonwho has an ERA of 2.79, but has recently worked in multi-inning reliefsints. It will probably be a Bullpen game for manager AJ Hinch. The guardians will prevent Lefty Parker Messick. The Rookie Southpaw has been an important factor in the Sprint from Cleveland to first place, after he registered a 2.08 ERA in 34 2/3 innings in six starts since he made his MLB debut on August 20.
