Tuesday is perhaps the most undervalued day of the week. It is not the beginning, so it doesn’t get the attention of a Monday. It’s not the middle, like Wednesday. It is not one of the days approaching the weekend, so we don’t really feel that we have something to look forward to on a Tuesday. It is just a kind of space here. Like the second child in a family of seven. But it is named after the God Tyr, a Germanic/Norwegian war god. That’s pretty cool. And it’s a good day to get things done. Places are usually slightly less busy. If you have to go to the post office or the bank or have a night out, Tuesday is your day.
It is also not a bad day for solving puzzles, not that every day is not. Let’s solve the mini -cross word of today!

The NYT MINI is a smaller, faster, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT-Kruisword Waandel, and unlike its bigger brother or sister, it is free to play without a subscription to the New York Times. You can play it on the internet or the app, although you need the app to tackle the archive.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is that. This was fairly simple, although I admit the only clue that was really finished by me, was 8-across, which just gave us the letter W for free. How special! This only cost me 42 seconds. Not too poor, if I say so myself!
