Dana White confirms an enormous update that comes to yacht bonuses

After the UFC who announced their next $ 7.7 billion rights deal with Paramount, Dana White would certainly be affected with questions about what the new agreement will mean for the future of the promotion and the hunters.

During the Post event Perser after the first episode of the new season of the Contender series by Dana White, White made one thing clear: “Bonuses clearly go up. That will be great.”

White refers to the yacht bonuses that are traditionally set at $ 50,000 for each of the two version of the night winners and another $ 50,000 each for the fighters who take on the fight of the nocturnal awards.

These bonuses have been a fixed value of UFC events for years and serve as a major incentive for hunters to withdraw memorable versions and exciting battles for fans.

White did not say exactly how high the bonuses would be increased, but given the new rights agreement is five times as large as the latter, it would be logical for bonuses to double – at least.

A jump from $ 50,000 to $ 100,000 per bonus would be a game changer for many hunters, especially those lower on the map whose basic wage is still relatively modest compared to top stars.

Earning a hunter $ 100,000 for a performance of the night would have a considerably greater impact on their lives and career. It can help them invest in better training camps, pay off debts or simply remove the financial pressure so that they can concentrate more on the preparation.

Some could even claim that the bonuses should go higher than those given the scale of the new media rights agreement.

As it looks now, it is refreshing to hear that there will be an increase. Yet this development raises a much greater question: how will the new inflow of Cash Impact Baseline Pay for fighters from the UFC for fighters? And perhaps just as important, how open will the promotion with that information be?

White told the media that things are still being worked out and that the UFC does not have to have definitive answers until January, when the Historical Deal with Paramount officially starts. That is when the new distribution model-value every UFC event is available for Paramount+ subscribers without extra pay-per-view-fee reimbursement.

If the total income share for hunters does not increase, the UFC will still be in the sights of critics who believe that the promotion should protect more than the 17-20% that it is currently paying athletes.

That figure is dramatically lower than the income share in other important professional sports competitions, where athletes often take home 48-50% of the competition income.

With this deal, the UFC has enabled itself to calm some of that criticism.

More transparency and a striking boost in hunter payments can help to shift the story, especially at a time when hunting unions and collective negotiations remain hot-button subjects in sport.

In the coming weeks and months we will learn more about how the new rights deal will directly influence both hunters and fans. For now, the only certainty is that bonuses go up – and for many hunters that is already a victory that is worth fighting to earn.
