Between these two extremes, there are also all kinds of adventure bikes available.
But the main reason we love adventure bikes is because of the promise of ultimate freedom on two wheels. They got this look because the original adventure bike was developed to handle the Paris-Dakar Rally. Today, there are a few companies catering to this madness – and the world is a better place for it. Here is the most aggressive looking ADV motorcycle of 2025.
The AJP PR7 is the most aggressive looking ADV motorcycle of 2025
AJP is one of the best bicycle manufacturers that most people have never heard of. It’s like Gas Gas, but based in Portugal. The company makes many off-road models that meet competition specifications, and has decided to enter the road-legal market. Fortunately, this move has also broadened the horizons of the serious two-wheel overland rider, as we believe the AJP PR7 is the most aggressive-looking ADV motorcycle of 2025.
Starting price: $13,999
The AJP PR7 is only a 600cc single, but costs almost $14,000. That pricing puts it squarely against premium middleweight adventure bikes designed to go off-road. Honestly, it’s somewhere between a dual-sport and adventure bike. It follows the spirit of the first adventure bike, being above all a big enduro machine.
AJP PR7 engine
The PR7 has a ‘7’ in its name and is called the ‘PR7 650’ elsewhere in the world, but is powered by a 600 cc single-cylinder engine. This stunner is liquid-cooled and fuel-injected, and while AJP isn’t releasing official power figures, it’s rumored to have a power peak of 60 hp.
For context, the most powerful single-cylinder engine in the world is in the 2026 KTM 690 Enduro R, with 79 hp from 693 cc. The KTM offers 114 hp/liter, while the PR7 is not far behind with 100 hp/liter. This bike has no cruise control, driving modes or by-wire throttle; a simple throttle cable, and the rider’s wrist is all you have.
Transmission and final drive
A six-speed gearbox and chain drive are available. The clutch is hydraulic, but there is no auxiliary and slipper function. Following the theme, there is also no quickshifter. You really have to know what you are doing on board a PR7.
That said, the PR7 can travel at highway speeds, but steady speeds of 80 mph can be uncomfortable due to the seating position and the vibration of the rammer. However, this is a bike that can also reach high speeds off-road if the rider’s skill allows it, so that’s the trade-off.

AJP PR7 chassis
The chassis is a combination of aluminum and steel, and AJP is keeping tight-lipped about what exactly goes into making one so light. It has a 48mm ZF Sachs inverted fork with double closed cartridges with 11.8 inches of travel. At the rear is a ZF Sachs shock with a piggyback reservoir. It is mounted on a progressive linkage machined from billet aluminum. There is also 11 inches of rear travel. As expected, the suspension is fully adjustable at both ends.
The wheels are enduro spec at 21/18 inches in diameter and require inner tube tyres, as AJP expects you to be going off-road a lot. Brembo supplies the brakes, with a single disc at both ends. There is a two-piston floating caliper at the front and a single-piston caliper at the rear. The brake hoses are braided. ABS is not present, which seems like a miss.
AJP PR7 dimensions
The PR7 is shockingly light for a medium-duty adventure motorcycle. The Aprilia Tuareg Rally 660 weighs almost 440 pounds, while the PR7 weighs 364 pounds. Credit can go to all the expensive materials, along with interesting solutions like the tank under the seat. This Acerbis unit holds 4.5 liters of fuel. Seat height is a whopping 36.2 inches, but that’s a function of the flat seat and suspension with almost a foot of travel. The result is that there is more than one meter of ground clearance.
Fuel tank capacity | 4.5 gallons |
Wheelbase | 60.6 inches |

AJP PR7 features
The PR7 is a minimalist machine, so there are no really fancy features to talk about. It has mechanical features like triple clamps, footpegs and bar mounts, but not much in the way of electronics. The instrumentation consists of a small LCD display that shows fuel level, speed, rpm, odometer and trip meter. It is surrounded by the usual warning and indicator lights.
Above that, in the rally-style tower, is a Samsung tablet. AJP doesn’t mention the size on the official website, but it’s a pretty big screen and runs Android, so you can make it run whatever you want. With the right adapter and connected to the OBD port, you can also have it display information from the engine. This arrangement of a large color screen at the top and an LCD at the bottom with essential information is quite reminiscent of the arrangement of the Honda Africa Twin.

AJP PR7 competition
As we’ve mentioned before, the PR7 lies in a no man’s land between large dual-sport bikes and middleweight adventure bikes. Some of the competition on the dual-sport side includes the KTM 690 Enduro R and Husqvana 701 Enduro (both $13,399). Both have an under-seat fuel tank and powerful single-cylinder engines, but they also have a full electronics suite and color TFT screens.
As far as adventure bikes go, the Aprilia Tuareg Rally 660 gets our vote for the most aggressive-looking adventure bike among the popular brands. The KTM 890 Adventure R Rally will also always be in this conversation. Finally, Yamaha’s Tenere 700 also has Dakar-inspired styling, so it’s definitely an aggressive-looking adventure bike. However, there’s an equally little-known brand called Kove that would probably take the crown for most aggressive-looking ADV if it weren’t for the PR7.
Kove makes a middleweight ADV called the 800X Rally, which looks like an adventure motorcycle, but like the AJP has a very low curb weight. In fact, the dry weight is virtually identical to the PR7’s wet weight, despite being a parallel twin. You get a lot more power, a by-wire throttle with riding modes and ABS that can be switched off only on the rear wheel or at both ends.
