Anthony Gordon has spoken after Bayer Leverkusen 2 Newcastle 2 ended on Wednesday evening.

The United winger scored the equalizer confidently from the penalty spot, before Lewis Miley headed home a fantastic cross.
Just a shame Anthony Gordon hit the woodwork with another class long distance effort, just as he did twice on Saturday!
As for the change after the break, Anthony Gordon admits; “The manager gave us a kick in the butt and we responded well.”
So close, yet so far, as the inability to make it 3-1 when United were well on top ultimately cost NUFC the late equalizer.

“I don’t know how the game got away, but it happens too often to be honest.
“The first half hour was really mediocre, but we responded well and we came out well in the second half.
“The manager gave us a kick in the butt and we responded well.
“We have to be tighter defensively because we concede too many goals late in games.
“I don’t know if that’s fatigue, but it’s all to do with mentality.
“We have to persevere in these games because that is what top teams do.”
Anthony Gordon also received an assist on Lewis Miley’s goal:
“He [Lewis Miley] is a fantastic player and does well every time he comes on or starts.
“He has made a big leap this year with his physical and mental development.
“I’m really happy for him.”
