Jamaican government undertakes to return CPL by 2026

The government says it is advanced in completing schemes to re-introduce a Jamaica franchise to the Caribbean Premier League in August 2026 through a public-private partnership.

The development comes when the government continues its urge to set up Jamaica as a leading destination to look, participate in and discuss sports.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett and Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, work together to conclude the discussions and to ensure that the necessary arrangements will be made next summer for a new Jamaican CPL franchise.

Bartlett Said, “Sports Tourism is a critical component in The Experiential Offerings of Tourism for Destination Jamaica.
