Adelaide Red, who defeated a top field to capture the Group 1 classic, is one of the Cantab Hall millionaire’s first commercial crops. Currently Pastor Stephen is based at Llowalong Farms in Kyabram with one of Victoria’s leading stud masters Dr. Kath McIntosh, and has made a spectacular start to his career down under.

In his first season he left five foals, three of which he took to the races, all three being winners. Of the 14 two-year starters this season, nine were winners and one was a seed.

His lineage includes Vicbred Silver winner Hallebesofine; The Preacher, who finished second at The Redwood and was a finalist in the Breeders Crown and Vicbred Super Series; African Gala, winner of two of his last three starts at Albion Park; as well as Melton winners Argyle Muse and Pass The Salt, with Jilliby Bliss, a winner at Sunday’s Gunbower Cup meeting.

In New Zealand, Pastor Stephen has produced two-year-old winner Save A Prayer from Alexandra Park and a placegetter from just seven racing-age foals, while in the Northern Hemisphere he has produced nearly $700,000 winners from two small American crops, four Breeders Crown champions in Germany and race winners in Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

Pastor Stephen was a top racehorse in his own right. He won almost $1.1 million and was named USA 2YO Trotting of the Year.

Pastor Stephen, from the influential sire Cantab Hall, is considered the brother of world champion racehorse and leading sire Patrick and belongs to the family of the 2YO Trotting Colt of the Year and very successful sire Chocolatier.

Pastor Stephen is part of Llowalong Farms’ sire list, which includes USA Breeders Crown champion and promising stallion King Of The North, last season’s leading freshman sire Poster Boy and rising young sire Soho Tribeca.
